I think 2.0 is more likely than anything else, though 1.8 seems possible. And that looks like a production cut to me rather than a trim job.
You have Action 41 in the thread title

I didn't. I got
But based on past performance, I'd say that's uncorrelated with my result

Admittedly I have a scale modellers toolbox, so you may not have one, but a fine razor saw does the job very neatly. In fact... never mind, it will get the slab open. Do you know any model builders?

Sorry guys, that was my fault. I usually add the CGC books to my folder after a few days, so I didn't notice the SS until it was too late. I should have checked for SS. I was told in the beginning of these contests that all books would be blue label.
No problem Mike. I would still have got +1 on that one (instead of +2).

Did the graders miss the writing on the cover of the Comet?
Edit: never mind, I just noticed the yellow label! I spent a while looking that book up to check that it was not meant to be there. Not thrilled by that one, TBH

I was thinking it tops out at 8.0 even with a press. A bit too much colour breaking stuff going on.

I was disappointed when I clicked on the thread title and found out that you are all talking about comic books!
But since I'm here now I'll show this one. I was 7 when my mum took me to Melbourne to see me grandparents. I had no idea at the time, but she was there to have a tough talk to them about their living arrangements, since they were getting past the point of coping in their home. I suspect that's why I was given 30c and told I could go by myself to the newspaper seller around the corner and buy some comics. That was the first time I can remember having autonomy in my choice. I can't recall what the other one was, but this Australian Disney reprint was one of them. It has the Carl Barks story "The Paul Bunyan machine" in it.

My favorite comics are silver-age Marvel, Shooter-era Valiant, EC comics and … Barks' duck books.
Great video about one of my favorite comic creators.
I second the recommendation. This is really well done. After I watched it, I realised that I've been a Barks fan for over 50 years and this was the first time I'd heard him speak.

Silver Age, but there's some great artwork in this 1962 Dell. (This is #2, the story was also reprinted in #28)

Best in the Industry? Yes, I personally feel CGC's case is the best in the industry. Now some will disagree, and that's fine.
Then allow me to disagree. I have slabs from four different companies and while I place a higher value on the integrity of CGC slabbed books - I will pay market value for them, while I won't with the others - the physical slabs themselves are probably the least appealing of the four. Ironically, the very nicest slabs I've seen are from the least brand recognised of the companies, which I will only buy if the price is low enough.

And if it were ever cracked out, the chance of ever folding that piece back without it splitting off is small.
Not necessarily, provided the paper is hydrated before trying it.I've successfully folded back some marginal looking paper by applying a little humidity first.

I thought it was True Secret Diary. You want a pic of the indica?
Isn't that the point of the thread?
Well, yes.
But usually the series is there and the individual issue is missing. If you can be bothered, PM me the indicia and I'll get it added.

But I don't think paper was ever the concern with safes. It was rusting staples. So I'm really not sure if this will work.
I think that was fireproof safes, and it was the chemical composition of the fireproofing that caused the rusting.

That white 'scratch' is a reasonably common printer's glitch on Hulk 181. I think that gets a pass from CGC, at least in grades under 9.8
