  1. No, Mark once had the penciled "S" run of early Adventures. He tinkered with some of them, but left the vast majority of them alone. When you said you got it from Mark and it was in relatively high grade, I thought it might be from that collection. I don't think I've ever seen the "S" copy of NA #12.
  2. Is your copy from the penciled "S" collection?
  3. Wow, those are gorgeous books! Yes, the markings on the first two books are consistent with Ohios. I don't recognize the others. So this is not an original owner collection?
  4. The collection is a treasure trove of rare books. Several of them, all these years later, are still the highest graded copies.
  5. Most likely buried deep in a collection or collections. True Dat.
  6. To each their own my friend Yes, what would TAR #9 be without the dialogue: "That little cheat will do anything to hold d*ck."
  7. That's interesting because it means they actually considered it, rather than missed it, when giving the 9.4 grade. I'm not sure which is worse. Having said that, I think that some of the Promise book grades were given because of the unusually bright colors and gloss.
  8. Can you imagine if a college student smoked a (tobacco) pipe today.
  9. Current prices are still low on many books with 30 minutes to go before the auction starts. I wonder how many prospective buyers are sitting at their computers waiting for the final bidding?
  10. Two of Snapshot's books - the Batman 15 and the Captain Midnight 33 - have an "NS" distributer mark. I own a book with an "NS" mark; I wonder if they come from the same source?
  11. I think that one of the primary factors holding back FF 209 is that it is more commonly found than some of the other issues. In terms of the quality of the art, I like it better than many, if not most, of the other covers in the run, particularly the damsel in distress.
  12. Some previously sold Promise books are coming up again in the HA auction that opens for bidding on 8/19.
  13. Nice mid-grade copy of Speed 35 on Clink right now. I've always loved this cover.
  14. It would be great if someone could post a scan of the list of Top 100 GA Books so that we could get a sense of the increases.
  15. Yes, that does look like the same book, and it's a beaut.
  16. That's interesting, I wasn't aware of the belated designation. Once the Allentown provenance is lost, it would be tough to reestablish it because Allentown lacks the distinctive markings that many other pedigrees have.
  17. Of the books in this upcoming auction, which are viewed as the least common, regardless of grade?
  18. Yes, that's a great Novick cover. It has it all: Nazis, fanged Japanese, skulls, and a babe in bondage. However, if the girl is an undercover agent, I don't understand why she is carrying her Secret Service ID in her purse when she visits the bad guys.
