A lot of that "garbage" is now selling for ridiculous amounts of money these days. People drooling over ASM365...really? I tended to agree up until about 18 months ago when books like Youngblood #2 started selling for $200. One man's trash is now that same man's treasure...SMH...

Depends if you define ‘garbage’ by value or quality. (shrug)

Was watching Jerry's video today on some 9.8s to grab in 2022 and he mentioned the X-Men 1 comic we all know. He mentioned to grab it now since it is affordable. With going on 4,500 CGC 9.8 copies I do not see this comic ever reaching decent money due to the lack of supply. What are the opinions here on this?

Valuable?  Probably not.  Worth something?  Yes.  But supply will limit upside.

655 and 656 are so under the radar at the moment it's insane how cheap they can be had. I'll pick them up every time I find them out in the wild. I traded a raw Miles Hip-Hop variant that I found for $2 for a 9.8 655

Yup.  Remarkable for a character that has been woven so deeply into the Bat and DC mythos in the last few years.

To collectors, there’s comics, and there’s ancillary items.  The first traditional comic appearances tend to be collected, whether or not an ancillary item has had a previous appearance.

This is an is ongoing debate on these boards.

Doesn’t much matter if there’s debate.  I’m speaking from the perspective of how the market has traditionally allocated dollars and buying interest.  The fact Mando/Grogu appear in a sequential pictorial story in GN form won’t stop many collectors from buying DV 20 as ‘first cover’ of Mando/Grogu.

If you see a ‘comic book’ as encompassing any sequential graphic or comic art, your choice should be to collect Mando S1 V1. (shrug)

The fact that the market hasn’t run up the price of that GN is telling, though.

To collectors, there’s comics, and there’s ancillary items.  The first traditional comic appearances tend to be collected, whether or not an ancillary item has had a previous appearance.  The ancillary items are also collected, and can also be winners.  The point, though, is that an appearance in a non-traditional form doesn’t tend to make the forst comic appearance meaningless.  See: Harley Quinn, Rocket Raccoon, Boba Fett…

I guess I missed bounty hunters 14 completely. Not really looking to buy anything new at the moment, my comic budget is completely spent with multiple submissions currently with CGC.

Let's connect before the next Red&White or Calgary Expo. I can bring a couple down for you if you still need them.

For the best price, talk to the guy who sets up with him. :gossip:
