Keg does not take reservations if I recall correctly. it should not be bad re: getting a restaurant. A couple of weeks back I was in town for an energy industry conference and you could walk into any restaurant downtown (except for SaltLik the one night as it was booked for a company event ).

Good point. I thought it was Eddie in WoSM 18. I have not read it since I was a kid. It is funny how fickle the market is with "the key" 1st appearances. The fist in bandages hitting a wall in Superman MOS #17 is enough, but a full page with Carnage in ASM #360 does not count.

Harley was more popular with female cosplayers/fans dressing up long before the comic took off in value. It was interesting to see since it took so long for BA #12 to really take off in price.

And hopefully those are the only two Canadian teams in Round 2!

A couple of years ago when they were beating Vancouver in Round 1 we had to wait for close to an hour to leave the exhibitor parking lot. I ended up just moving some barriers enough to drive on the sidewalk eventually to get out. Thankfully, that will not be an issue this time around. It is too bad that they lost to the Ducks. As much as I naturally dislike the Flames as an Oilers' fan, I think I hate some of the players on the Ducks even more. Hopefully the first round loss ends up leaving more $$$ in the pockets of Calgary collectors to spend at the show.

They had pulled out a bunch of back stock but forgot to check the sticker prices.

What is the grade on this one? That is a tougher CDN in 9.8 due to the black cover.

Yup. And it is Ms. Marvel #18 that is the key Mystique book to have. You can also look at 1st Cletus Kasady (ASM #344) and 1st Carnage (ASM #360 cameo and ASM #361 full), or even Eddie Brock (Web #18) and 1st Venom (ASM #299 cameo and #300 full), as other examples. 1st appearance of regular Joe blow character does not matter as much relative to their 1st appearance as a hero or villain.

Remember, buy the label not the book! If the 9.6 looked better then you have a shot at a 9.8 with a squash and resub. There is slight but enough variation between 9.6s and 9.8s based on the grading on any given day to make chasing the $$$ worth it if you want to.

He also needs to pick his characters a bit better - the two Archie comics (Josie & Pussycats and Betty & Veronica) are still available, as well as the two X-books. I hope the next one is a Black Cat cover or something along those lines, and it is not released for a couple of months.

That is a cool set. He needs to slow down, though, as there are way too many new exclusive sets out right now and it is likely oversaturating the market.

Some of the passes are finally hitting Sold Out status. Pre-McFarlane and Stan Lee announcements there were plenty of tix left. I wonder if they will be able to sell the show out this year with the down economy?

I really wish that they had gone forward with that cover. It fit with some of the Death of the Family covers/variant covers.

I did not catch it in the Edmonton Journal. Mind you, the only section worth reading is their sports section. The others are basically so scaled down now it is not worth it.
