On second thought, I am a bit more cautious about the film now. While Whedon hit a home run with the first Avengers film, he struck out with a bad sequel with AoU. On the TV side, he is also involved in the horrible Agents of SHIELD show. I am hoping that in Batgirl he brings the magic of the first Avengers movie, and not the sequel.

I am curious to see how this will turn out. While the first Avengers film was great, AoU was bad and both were written/directed by Whedon. He also has/had a hand in the horrible Agents of SHIELD TV show.

The last time the Flames were in the playoffs I was at a conference in Calgary with work. They set up screens so we could watch Game 6 at the main banquet. I was the only person cheering for Tampa Bay in the entire room. It was great when they won it. The large dining room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.............except for me cheering and laughing after the Bolts scored the game winnner. Sitting at my table was one of my best friends' wife who is from Calgary. She went home and told my buddy how pissed she was with me. My view is simple - there is only one Canadian team I want to win the Cup, the Oilers, so I will cheer against any other Canadian team that makes the finals.

My decision on not wanting to watch it was based on the casting of Finn Jones. He was a weak actor in GoT, and it sounds like he has not performed any better in Iron Fist. It is too bad, as I like the character in the comics. I have always thought that Iron Fist was the coolest out of all of the martial arts centric characters.

This was a great second trailer as it accomplished the two main things they wanted to do: 1) Introduce the new heroes just enough to stimulate interest/buzz either way (and yes, the Cyborg CGI is bad now but will improve as it is worked on over the next few months) and 2) Tease the storyline just enough to give people an idea of the tone of the film, but not give away everything like they did with the first BvS trailer. This film looks like it will be a lighter tone, and focus a bit more on character development than BvS did. Right now the main antagonist, Steppenwolf, is being kept in the dark, which is smart. I would be fine if they did not reveal him until the actual film as they do not need to. Focus on the background story of the heroes in the next/final trailer. I really liked the Amazons battle in the valley scene that they teased. It would be great if it is a flashback rather than in current time.

Just kidding. This was a good second trailer. It looks like they learned their lesson from BvS re: don't give everything away in the first trailer.

Yeah, Mamoa looked cool as Aquaman in this trailer. I think he will be great in this role.

My guess is GL/GL Corps does not show up until Part 2. Part 1 should end with the JL losing the biggest battle and a hint at Superman returning. The second flick should involve Supes and the GL Corps joining the JL to battle a larger force from Apokolips, with Darkseid not being shown until a scene where he is back home watching his side losing and talking about revenge. That sets up the big bad for the third film.

So......another new Thor? Aren't there enough already?

Who cares if it is released in 2018 or 2019? All I want is a quality Batman flick. Oh yeah, if it features Batgirl and Poison Ivy as well that would be even better based on the books in my collection.

If anything it would have been the box office numbers for Live By Night. From other stuff I have read, alcohol and gambling have been issues for him for a while now. Likely the reason that Garner finally filed for divorce. In any case, looks like he may be starting to try to straigthen things out so good luck for him.

True enough. The small Edmonton Collector Con the weekend before was about $1000 better in sales than the Red & White. The difference in the economy in Edmonton vs. Calgary is definitely reflected in comic sales. The other issue was seeing a couple of regular buyers set up as sellers. That takes a couple of the bigger spenders out of the market as well. As low as sales were for this March show, I can remember in the mid 00s where hitting $300 was a good day at the fall Red & White show. It was interesting to hear a few people mention that they would come back to get stuff in April at the Expo. I wonder how much that impacted results as well?

Here's hoping that they are either eliminated or on the road that weekend. The last time there was a playoff game the same day as the Expo it was a loooonnnngggg wait to exit the Stampede grounds.
