  1. I have found that if you specify "Canadian Newsstand Price Variant" in the Pedigree space on your submission form they will label it properly. If not, due to the volume of books that CGC must fly through it tends to get missed.
  2. So, the series is moving to Tuesdays at 10pm when it returns. That's a tough time slot; the show may be down to the its last season or two at this point. I am surprised that it is still going. We stopped watching during season 1 since it was so bad, and the couple of episodes I have seen this year did not attract my attention at all either. It is interesting to see how Marvel does so well with movies but its TV shows bite, while at DC the TV shows are better than the last two Snyder films (Man of Steel and BvS).
  3. Dude, you got a hell of a deal ! Thanks. I will check out the condition of the other books later at home, but the #16 has a couple of small spine ticks/creases so it is likely only a VF/NM.
  4. I hit a LCS during lunch and was able to snag a Zatanna #1-16 set for $20 CDN.
  5. Wow, overall sales are down 20% from April 2015? Batman is currently the only ongoing title that is still maintaining over 100,000 copies per month. Even Star Wars has dropped below that threshold now. I wonder if it is a sign of super-hero/comics fatigue? Mind you, most of the Marvel titles are unreadable now, and with Snyder bowing out from the monthly Batman title I expect DC will see a significant drop in readership for it (which could in turn hurt other DC Bat-titles as well). We will see if Rebirth can rekindle some of the New 52 magic, but if it does not then this could be an interesting year for comic sales.
  6. The story is decent, but the artwork is drek. You can see age taking its toll on Jack's pencilling with his 70s DC runs.
  7. yeah, that's about right, the only issues I couldn't find. It was funny - around this time last year there was progress being made on the show but sellers were happy to be blowing out #2-66. I snagged a few runs of those issues for cheap (less than $1 per book) and wish I had not passed on plenty of others.
  8. It looks legit. A 6.5 just sold for $2,175. This book is on fire Sell into the movie hype and rebuy when the prices drop in a few months.
  9. What if it comes back a 4.0? Then I am a bit disappointed but still well in the money on it. Everyone that has seen it in hand has said it is very strictly graded and some have said it would possibly hit a 6.0 on a good day. The last person to say that called the upgrade on my old label CGC 4.5 Avengers #4 to a 6.5 correctly so I am hoping he is right again. What do the notes say? Bottom Spine Medium Spine Split Front Cover Moderate Wear All Edges Spine Moderate Wear Breaks Color The spine split is what they likely nailed it on originally. No hidden stains or interior issues so it will be interesting to see how it comes back. The reason I bought it originally was that it looks better than the stated grade.
  10. Damnit. Looks like I sold two of my 9.6s a couple of months early.
  11. Negan is a pansy compared to the preacher. Jesse would own the post-apocalyptic TWD world.

  13. Thanks. The 4.5 will be heading for regrading in a bit to see what happens.
  14. I agree that it is a tough book without any issues. FWIW, I would rather have your 6.0 than the 7.0 with the heavier tanning. I snagged a nice 4.5 and a nice 5.0 that have great eye appeal for the grade due to the main issues being on the back cover. Unfortunately, neither has better than CR-OW pages.
  15. The tanning around the perimeter/edges of both covers. It is a solid book otherwise, but the perimeter tanning is fairly heavy on it.
  16. Where will this 7.0 with fugly perimeter tanning end up? The price is fairly weak so far...... http://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-brave-and-the-bold-28-justice-league-of-america-dc-1960-cgc-fn-vf-70-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7137-91142.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
  17. Ouch. 18 reviews in on meta means it's gonna be a stinker critic wise. Trailers looked bad but Singer has made ok movies - seems odd to me to let reviews out 3 weeks early when they're not great. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 45%! Rotten Tomatoes X-MEN ratings, That means I will like it better than BvS! Or......it goes to show how much sway Disney has over the sheeple that are critics. Conspiracy theorists feel free to chime in now.
  18. The speculators on the boards have overloaded their website.
  19. They were 1st prints. Wow - let me know if you need anymore ASM 361s in higher grade. I'll sell mine for $60 US and you can make a killing flipping them. Yeah. I passed on a group of near mint copies at $40 apiece like four days ago. Not sure who would be paying $100+ when they are readily available on eBay for half of that. Pretty weird. Cuz they are Canadians ASM 361 is a strange book up here. It sells well for a couple of years, stagnates for a year, then takes off again. Two and three years ago we could not keep copies on the tables or walls at $80, last year it was dead, and this year it is hot again.
  20. Whoa! That's some hardcore dealer on dealer action! Do you know if the other dealer was able to resell those books? Sadly, yes with the Killing Joke and at least one ASM #361. The same dealer for my ASM #361s said he is getting $400 CDN for high grade raw UXM #266s, then offered me $200 for my CGC 9.6 copy in the next breath.
  21. So, what price are you buying at? In USD... As low as possible.
  22. We had other dealers buying the ASM 361s and Killing Joke 1s from us, marking them up to $150, and then flipping the books. My two mid grade ASM 361s for $100 were scooped up by one of them. One of them had a corner fold/crease on the back cover that he likely did not disclose.
  23. PPSM #64 was a hot item at the Calgary Expo this weekend. I sold all five copies I decided to put out without any trouble. Other sales of interest (prices in $CDN = ~1.25 $USD price): New Mutants #1 CGC 9.6 sold within 15 mins of me putting it out. I was worried I wasted a space in the box bringing it but it went fast. UXM #266 CGC 9.6 at $250 CDN (this is the third copy I have sold at that price this spring - I guess I need a few more now). I had another dealer tell me that he gets $400 raw for HG copies down East, and then offer me $200 for my 9.6 in the next breath. Raw ASM #361s were moving for $80 and then 100 at our booth. and I sold two copies with issues that were 6.0 and 7.5 for $50 apiece. I also moved a slabbed 9.4 for $100 and then a 9.6 at $150. Other dealers were reportedly selling raw VF or better copies for up to $150. Killing Joke #1s were selling for $150.
  24. Looks like Spider-Man Deadpool #1 still has some legs. This sale looks a bit shilly to me, though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spider-Man-Deadpool-1-1st-print-9-2-NM-Joe-Kelly-Ed-McGuinness-Marvel-/282015394279?hash=item41a96d69e7:g:3EcAAOSw~oFXHF2Y FWIW, Batman vs. TMNT #1 and Spider-Man Deadpool #1 Reg and #1 Hip Hop were fast sellers at the Calgary expo this weekend at $15 apiece.
