  1. Nah, they will just need a better slate of Producers/Directors and someone to pull a coherent vision for the DCU together. FWIW, I think this movie will be fine and a good popcorn flick. Looking at the amount of interest I am seeing from my daughter and her friends (12 year olds) and her friends older siblings (13-18) this movie is striking the right kind of rebellious chord with tweens and teens to make it do well at the boxoffice. That being said, Suicide Squad was always a weird choice for me as their first flick after BvS since it is dealing with a more risky (or risque? ) property than say a Wonder Woman or Batman solo movie would be. Wonder Woman and Justice League look like better bets for next year.
  2. here's Matt Singer's Age of Ultron review. http://screencrush.com/avengers-age-of-ultron-review/ his scores of the recent Marvel Movies Civil War 8/10 Age of Ultron 8/10 Thor the Dark World 9/10 Cap America the Winter Soldier 8/10 Iron Man 3 7/10 Thor the Dark World 9/10?
  3. Are you referring to the 9.8 white pages that just sold for $710? If that's what the last one sold at then I guess it's cooled off a bit. Actually, I just scooped up a 9.4 white pager for 325 plus tax at the LCS... DP back issues, including NM 98, have been ice cold since the movie passed other than Spider-Man Deadpool. It is funny seeing how slow they are at shows now.
  4. Agreed. They could have done much better, but seeing as the first movie turned out so well I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this lame pick working.
  5. My first thought as well. They would be better off with rebooting Green Goblin, or even Dr. Octopus. None of the villains listed are A list spidey villains. That being said, maybe they could introduce Osborn and Octavius to set them up as future villains?
  6. No clue who Brie Larson is, but as long as there is a movie to pump up the prices on the MSH #13s and Ms. Marvel #1s/Captain Marvel #1s I have it will all be fine.
  7. Still on the fence with this one. I am not a huge Cumberbatch fan to start with, and the special effects in the trailer are not wow - we have seen this all before with Inception. Maybe they should have cast Leo as Strange instead? I hope the movie is better and that I am pleasantly surprised when we finally see it (most likely Blue-Ray as my kids think the trailers are lame so far ).
  8. Translated - "I will be playing a human popsicle"
  9. I thought it was fine. This movie is supposed to be a bit crazy and the trailer fits the bill. I am looking forward to this film and have my that Harley steals the show and they intro Slade Wilson.
  10. Load up on all of the Iron Jane books that you can get and flip them fast.
  11. Although - and this may be the exception that proves the rule - the legendary New Mutants 98 10.0 was found in the wild. Foolkiller pulled it out of a box at a show. Im fairly certain it was pressed though.... ? It was pressed that's correct. However, I also submitted five MOS 18s, and got 3 9.9s, those were unpressed, mostly because I thought they were 9.8s and pressing wouldn't have done anything more to improve them. You have more luck any anyone I know of Yes, the harder he works to find books, the luckier he gets. Crazy, that correlation.... I think the original remark was in regards to submitting unpressed books and getting three 9.9's in the same batch. They were the copies at the bottom of stack 1 on pallet 28 in section 4 of his basement and pressed by the thousands of books on top of them . If you buy like Brian does you will have a lot of nice books.
  12. It was not me, unfortunately. It just popped up when I was searching closed auctions today.
  13. Looks like there are still some deals to be found on BA #12 every once in a while: http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Batman-Adventures-12-DC-comics-Sept-1992-1st-Harley-Quinn-VF-1st-printing-/122047709670?hash=item1c6a9c41e6%3Ag%3AtGYAAOSwYqxXis9x&nma=true&si=nN3Vqcjr4luIaIwj5u2Dd81%252Bbjg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. The Adams run from #76-89 is a definite yes. Outside of that, even in high grade most of the rest, including keys, can be landed for cheap in low to high graded relative to other SA titles. Some of the earlier issues have great Gil Kane covers to go with his interiors, but I have never read any of the stories even though I have owned a few runs over the years so I can't comment on that.
  15. Just got this back from CGC this weekend. The new slab with the old inner well make books pop very nicely.
  16. Here is a recent return from CGC. I love the way the books pop in the new slabs even with the old holder inside.
  17. According to Doug Sulipa's website, there were Canadian DC newsstand variants published until September 1988. The last Batman issue with one was 423. Based on what I have seen, Doug's post is correct. There are some 1988 DCs with funky cover prices above $1.00 that are harder to find.
  18. That was my copy that just sold. 1 of only 2 9.8's on the census. Here is the other one
  19. The problem with the book was the delays. The story was decent, but not shipping on a reasonably consistent schedule killed it.
  20. A guy I know, yesterday, found a BA 12 for 50 cents at a yard sale that did not list comic books. BA 12 is one that you can find for cheap as it is a kids book. I snagged one for $4 off a craigslist post while on vacation last year, and the two copies before that from LCSs for $4 apiece as well (it pays to update prices on back stock...... ).
