  1. Isn't he also writing the biggest regular book in the biz right now as well with the relaunch of Batman?
  2. Batman was the only New 52 book I read to the end. Snyder did an amazing job on the title. It is funny, but even if Batman is the only New 52 run to stand the test of time the relaunch was more successful than both of the Marvel restarts during the same time period.
  3. I have read the books and I like the TV show. My wife has not read the books and she is a fan as well. The only character we can't stand is Tulip. If she was killed off as a deviation from the plot that would be fine with me. I can't stand the way she is being written and am not a fan of the actress either. Tonight's episode was the best so far IMHO. The beginning was insanely fun.
  4. Which keys and which book that you didn't know existed? Send me a PM as I may be able to help with some that you are looking for. I am leaning towards selling off most of my CDN variants over the summer.
  5. I heard that it is better than Civil War.
  6. I'm worried it's going to end up like the Sensation Comics feat. Wonder Woman #4. Hey now, that's a gorgeous cover Sure is. No idea why it didn't take off like some of the other covers. Likely due to the print run. I am still selling them off regularly for $8 - $10 at shows.
  7. How much higher do these books actually have to run? A couple have popped already on the movie spec news. Unless they have staying power (i.e. will appear in mulitple movies) there are better books to speculate with.
  8. I agree. I think part of the problem is not many HG copies actually exist. SPJM was not the most popular title and I don't think it saw the same speculative interest that other bronze titles did. The census (while only a poor proxy) is interesting in this case. Only 558 graded copies total! Only six in 9.8. and We haven't seen a substantial rise in those numbers since the book's price started to climb. So my feeling is the census won't ever explode. As a comparison IM 55 has 1969 copies with 53 in 9.8 and ASM 129 has 6320 copies on census with 89 in 9.8. The white cover and availability of copies with a slightly offset spine to mask color breaking spine creases that can be pressed flat make IM 55 an easier book in high grade. The darker cover is an issue with Jimmy Olsen #134. I agree. There is a confluence of factors which make this a difficult book in HG. You can add in IM #55 getting softer grading as well. The last copy I subbed for my LCS owner was an 8.0 with a number of color breaking spine creases/ticks (it was a properly centered copy) that came back as a 9.6. He flipped it and went away laughing with the huge upside win from the gift grade.
  9. Marvel fanboys and fanboy critics gotta hate! That being said, so far the two super-hero movies I enjoyed the most this year have been from Fox Studios.

  11. I think the funniest thing about the whole Inhumans push is that it does not matter how hard Marvel tries, there is little to no interest in the franchise.
  12. Is the 12 year old kid in the photo a fan on site?
  13. My wife and kids took me to the movie this afternoon for Father's Day. We all enjoyed the film. My daughter liked it the most. The reason - the strong female characters. She said she likes the X-Men movies better than the Avengers franchise as a result of this, which is an area that Fox should continue to exploit just like WB can with Wonder Woman. Both of my kids (10 and 12) also said they liked the fact that the X-Men characters/movies are not as simple as the other Marvel movies.
  14. I don't think there is much re-order stock available on the first two weeks of Rebirth #1s outside of damage replacements.
  15. You mean slabs that are not causing them to warp while encased?
  16. Will the actor finally look like a teenager when the movie is filmed? I have kids on the 10 year old Spring Hockey team I coach that look more mature, and a couple that are almost as tall/heavy as him.
  17. Looks like I have to hit the LCS that still has a stack of these at cover along with all of the Rebirth #1s (regular and variant) to flip.
  18. Chuck can you explain this new return policy on Rebirth? I heard a shop owner reference it yesterday and I just didn't get it. Was there a minimum or maximum amount that could be returned before Rebirth? It is interesting to see the differences in ordering decisions at five LCSs regarding DC Rebirth. Three ordered lighter, with a minimal amount of shelf copies, and sold out right away. They have been trying to back order but can't. Another store that orders larger amounts followed suit with Rebirth #1s and sold out within two days of most issues (Flash was gone morning of). The fifth store is the one that I view as the smartest with new books - they ordered very large amounts and have stacks of all issues at cover on two racks for now. My guess is that they will up their prices shortly, but they did the same with some of the better New 52 #1s and are reaping the rewards now. If retailers can return them, it was a no brainer for this store as they can return any unsold copies even if there are minimum purchase amounts.
  19. Finally watched Episode 2 last night after PVRing it on Sunday. I thought it did a good job of introducing the Saint of Killers as well as Jody & TC (discussion with Cassidy re: where Jesse learned how to fight). Based on how they are starting things off, it looks like the Saint of Killers will be slowly introduced bit by bit until a full appearance at the end of this season. It is also fun to watch Jesse run into problems when he is first learning to use his power. The unintended consequences are interesting to say the least. I am not a huge fan of Ruth Negga as Tulip. She is miscast so far IMHO.
  20. Something smells fake about it due to it being sold twice, but I guess it is a double cover book and there are some that will pay a huge premium for that.
  21. This is why I love buying Copper collections. There are so many low OSPG value 1st apps to generate a nice return from.
  22. Cue the Marvel fanboy haters with comments on the title in 5....4....3....2...1....
