  1. Yep,this is going to be huge. Most non-comic book people I know are more looking forward to Suicide Squad, than BVS! I agree. I have friends who have never read a comic talk to me about this movie. That last trailer did it. Tell them they should go out and buy up every copy of Legends #3 that I will be listing between now and the movie release please.
  2. I am back in the club with a pair of recent additions.
  3. Are you saying that this copy was undergraded or that the other previous copies were overgraded? I am simply stating that this copy was a superior copy. Nothing else. +1 It is amazing how an accurately graded copy can look that much better than other copies floating around. In any case, B&B #28 should see a nice run up over the next couple of years along with the associated 1st SA appearances of the associated characters.
  4. I am not sure. If there was a copy of #28 in the mix as well at OSPG I would say take all three if needed. B&B #29 and #30 should see a bit of a premium to OSPG, but moreso in higher grades.
  5. Time to change the subject from the same BA12 discussion we have had numerous times in other threads.
  6. Wow! Someone did not get their box of Cheerios this morning. Marvel zombies are gonna hate......
  7. I thought I had read someplace that he is supposed to be Slade Wilson but not put on the costume in the movie?
  8. Exactly. Buy at a discount to OSPG and sell at true market value.
  9. That is how I am kind of starting to feel. I will go see it no matter what, but I feel kind of neutral about the whole thing. While on the other hand I am even more jazzed to see Captain America: Civil War than I was five months ago. My index for seeing Batman V Superman is going down while my index for Captain America is going up. I'm the opposite. But when considering the Big Two in comics, I am more a DC nerd than Marvel. Not to say I don't love my Spider-Man, X-Men and Captain America comics. It may be what you appreciate more that matters the most with these movies. Though I do hope they all succeed so the cinema beast keeps fed. +2 re: waning interest in the Marvel movies. I was not a big fan of either AoU or Ant-Man, and more importantly for the future of the franchises, neither were my kids. Their response to Ant-Man was the most disinterested I have seen them be with any Marvel or DC movie I have watched with them to date. They have seen all of the other movies at least 4 - 5 times on DVD or TV, even the duds. I am looking forward to the Fox X-title slate of movies more than the Marvel studios flicks for one simple reason - they are not as formulaic as the Marvel studios movies have become. Guardians was fun because it was different and had a good cast, but the other movies they have done the past couple of years have been. (and yes, that includes the Winter Soldier - the actor they cast as Bucky looks too wussy for the character IMHO )
  10. Unless you are one of those folks that just hate on DC and love everything Marvel. Then you'll be taking everyone else on a journey of unrelenting complaints..... Ignore them. Those are the same people that think AoU was a great movie.
  11. I don't know if it has been posted already, but how many copies of the WD 150 b/w one per store variants were printed?
  12. Agreed, and right now the only regular superhero title that is close to it in monthly sales is Batman. I am curious to see what the sales numbers are for the new #1s or books like DK3 without the multitude of store or other variant covers. There are a ton of variants that help pump up sales #s.
  13. They must be doing something right since the comic shop owner I talked to Wednesday said last month was his best month in over 20 years. And new books were about 90% of his sales for the month. I have not read a new book in probably a year but there must be a ton of people buying books if he can make that claim. People are still speculating on #1s so the past 2 or 3 months should have been great for stores due to the Marvel relaunch and new Star Wars spin off #1s. That being said, we should see a drop off as the titles get longer in the tooth. The same thing happened with the New 52 relaunch, although the New 52 #1s have much better back issue staying power as DC has not restarted everything within 24 months on the top titles like Marvel does.
  14. I sold all of my copies in the $30-40 range. At least I found a copy of the Hughes Harley #1 sitting in a box that I did not sell too early.....
  15. So.....this Marvel relaunch has the same staying power as Marvel Now just as expected. Don't worry, the next round of #1s is already being set up for 2018. I am curious to know what the minimum viable monthly sales are for a big two title to stay viable. Unlike the Image or other indie books, the big 2 are in it as a business not a creator's labor of love. As a result, certain sales numbers are needed or the titles aren't worth printing.
  16. What people are disagreeing with is the variation in CGC's grading standards. Exactly. If you have been submitting since the beginning you notice the swing from strict to loose and back. The key is timing your buying to strict grading and your own submissions to looser grading.
  17. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice book. The cover has great color and gloss. That being said, the bottom right corner on the B&B 28 has too many issues to be a 7.5 or even 7.0 IMHO. As a reference, here is an 8.0 SA DC I won in December on Clink that I view as being more accurately graded (note - there is a scratch in the "Detective" logo on the slab, not a printing crease/wrinkle).
  18. Last night's episode was decent again. I am PVRing the show so I can just skip the 2 mins of ads in between every 4-5 mins of the actual show.......... I did not read the books when I was younger. How does the storyline seem so far relative to the books they are derived from?
  19. Nice color on the book, but that bottom right corner will likely keep the prices tame. How it scored a 7.5 with a small color breaking crease in the top right corner and three longer ones across the bottom right does not make sense to me, but if I can get that grading team on all of my submissions I will gladly take them! It's a 7.5 because of those defects, but no one ever thinks of that! It's always "How can it be a 7.0 if it has this? How can it be a 9.0 with this? CGC doesn't grade based on eye appeal alone...as much as you all want them to. There was a time not that long ago where CGC would not have given this book a 7.5. It would have been a 6.5 at best. This is not the only instance - over the past year or so it has become apparent that as long as the creases are pressed nice and flat they are acceptable. I have noticed that with my own submissions this past year as well. With time the pendulum will swing the other way again, I guess, but until then it is definitely a case of buy the book and not the label.
  20. True enough, but at least it was a much nicer looking copy otherwise than the fugly 6.0 that sold last December. The final price for this copy was fairly strong IMHO seeing as it had the stamp and was sold on eBay during a traditionally weaker time for prices on keys. Hopefully 6.0s hit $10K later this year post BvS movie hype and that floats all lower boars as well. I would love to move my 4.5 or 5.0 in the $6-$7K range at the current exchange rates for $CDN vs $USD.
  21. I am not looking for an upgrade right now, unfortunately, but it looks like there could be another 6.0 going for a good price on eBay today. If anyone here is looking for a 6.0 they might get a deal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141867372336?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  22. Nice color on the book, but that bottom right corner will likely keep the prices tame. 23. I have not read the books, but thought it was a fun start watching the pilot last night. My kids (10 and 11) liked it so we will be adding it to the weekly family TV watch list.
  24. Let's hope they can recapture the magic of #1-6 from both to read and to make money perspectives.
  25. Rudd has been primarily a supporting role actor and trying to cast him as a the lead did not work for me. Maybe it was due to the fact that the last movie I saw him in was "This is 40" where he was a pathetic 40 year old male that is the issue. Neither one of my kids want to watch it again which is a first for them with the Marvel films. Their reaction to it is similar to the reaction they had with Green Lantern.
