  1. The best way to play the 1st Negan is to have.... WD #100 1st WD #100 2nd WD #99 2nd WD #100 3rd and WD #100 Lucille variant That way you cover all of the bases.
  2. Great choice of actor for the role, IMHO. Looks like I need to hit the LCS that still has WD #100s at cover to $5 apiece for more.
  3. Peter, going for the over. I am not as certain. This is a very fugly 6.0 IMHO. How does a book with that heavy of reading creasing along the spine hit 6.0? The overgrading on it should hurt the price in the end. My 4.5 B&B #28 or old label 4.5 Avengers #4 look more like 6.0s than this copy........... The stress lines knocked this this SC22 to a 6.0. I wouldn't call it the best 6.0, but I wouldn't call it a 4.5 or 5.0. This SC22 has great registration and great right colors. The price of this copy will do just fine. We will agree to disagree. There is no way I would call that book raw in hand a 6.0 with all of the heavy spine creasing, the small creases/tears along the top edge, creasing at the bottom, several small stain/smudge spots on both covers, and tanning/start of foxing around the perimeter of the back cover. It looks like it has been well pressed and dry cleaned to get it to this grade. I have noticed over the past year that CGC has been way looser than in the past with pressed color breaking creases not affecting grades as much as they used to. Way back in the beginning of CGC grading when it was nice and tight this SC #22 would not have graded out higher than 4.5/5.0. As a comparison, here is my old label 4.5 Avengers #4.
  4. If it said 4.5 or 5.0 on the label it would not be as much of an issue. That being said, I would love to have that grading team work on my latest submissions.

  6. How much does Stan charge for his signatures? Looking at GPA, the November lull is in full effect right now on a lot of books (even SA keys). Time to buy?
  7. Frick, I should have avoided the spoilers as I have the episode recorded to watch later this week. Hopefully Glenn survives for his fateful meeting with Lucille instead........
  8. We PVR'd it and watched the pilot as a family tonight. My 11 year old daughter and wife both really liked the show. If they can attract female viewers the show will have some staying power.
  9. Sounds like a great plan to me. I only have one or two copies of Watchmen #1 left, but a nice stack of Outcast #1s waiting for closer to the show's release.
  10. No demand for Ms Marvel or Captain Marvel? Or do you just see that demand from older collectors? Which runs? The BA Starlin Captain Marvel books and BA Ms. Marvel #1 and #18 show demand, along with MSH #12/#13 and the Strange Tales Starlin Warlock arc. As far as the new runs, Captain Marvel is slow - I move a #1 every from the last two series every second or third show but that is it. The 1st appearance of Kamala Ms. Marvel and her solo title has slowed a lot as well - I had no requests for it this fall, but it did sell decently at the shows this spring. Maybe the "All New" relaunch has killed interest in the back issues?
  11. I'm pretty sure this reboot is for all the potential new-blood that has been pouring into comicons lately. They have now idea where to begin. Now they do. I loved all five of today's offerings personally. Ant Man was just fantastic ( I loved Superior Foes a bit too much ) I would argue that it is due to flagging sales on the super-hero titles, not wanting to attract the new-blood at cons, that is the reason. This latest relaunch is just a rehash of what Marvel, and DC to a lesser extent (how many Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, etc. volumes have their been the past 20 years?), have been doing to try to pump up sales volumes. My observation over the past five years of increasing con attendance re: new-bloods is this - for new books, Harley and Deadpool are the most consistent sellers, DC New 52 (especially Batman) is still in demand four years out, and outside of Death of Wolverine #1-4 (still selling well at $40 per set), Deadpool, Spider-Gwen #1 and ASM vol 4 #4 most recent Marvel books are dead. However, the biggest place the new-blood is putting their money up here is...................Silver/Bronze/Copper keys. If it is a key back issue it will sell.
  12. Wonder if Sword of Azrael and Batman #488 will heat up a bit now?
  13. Maybe now is the time to pick up a 9.8 Thought Bubble as a spec play?
  14. I hope the November then 6 issues monthly pans out so I can sell the last remaining copies of #1 from my spec pile at $20+ apiece again. Someone needs to start a movie or TV rumor as well.........
  15. If Fox pulls this off right then there will be a ton of 1st apps from the Uncanny run that should pop.
  16. There was a lack of #1s this September and it hurt the market. The past two years DC had their 3D covers that boosted sales, and this year the latest round of Marvel #1s will not hit in full force until the October and November numbers. That being said, I know that the LCSs I talked to were dropping their non-file orders on the new Marvel #1s since the Marvel Now relaunch over the past two years was a dud both on the shelves and as back issues (and I expect the latest round of #1s to do the same). It will be interesting to see how Marvel's latest relaunch turns out. I skimmed through the ASM vol 4 #1 last week and it was bad from both the story and artwork perspective. The only thing to like about it is the Alex Ross cover. I have not read any of the other titles, but if this what Marvel books are like now I can see why the sales are flagging. After the initial bump from the #1s, I can see the titles dropping off substantially again just like the weaker New 52 and Marvel Now books did. I am also surprised at how many books from the big 2 are selling in the 30,000 copies or less per month range and are still being released. What is the break even point number of monthly copies on a title?
  17. Sweet! I was worried that my buying of Swamp Thing #49/50 and Justice League Dark #1 (1st prints) for cheap ($4 or less for ST 49/50 and cover of less on JLD 1) when I saw them was going to be a mistake.
  18. X-O Manowar #1 would be Tec #27 then - the book that introduces the companies' most popular character.
  19. I cleaned out two LCSs and one smaller dealer of their pre-unity, late run and incentives (Golds, VVSSs, etc.) and picked up multiples of all books except for the Diamond Trades at $1.00 or less (usually 3 for $1), including Harby #1. You just had to be willing to hear the LCS owners trash Valiant for creating the speculative bubble that killed the hobby in the 90s. (thumbs u The smaller dealer turned up multiple runs and a couple of store backstock hoards in a three year span that I flipped quickly on eBay during the initial 2003-2004 Valiant price spike. I can remember passing on a long box and a half of Rai #0s for $0.10 per book that ended up getting water damaged due to a burst pipe in the building a short while later. He did start asking for $5 apiece on the VVSS issues towards the end, though. Price gouger.
  20. No. DD #4 is being driven by the show right now.
  21. Right now we are seeing a speculative run on almost any BA #1 or 1st appearance - basically, buy now and hope they hit via a movie or tv show appearance.
  22. I cut a deal on this at the Edmonton Expo a week and a half ago and picked it up tonight.
