  1. It already is a success for the simple fact that Marvel was able to generate $300M+ from a weak 3rd tier character. It just shows that you can wring blood from a stone if you do it properly. As long as it is not the FF any super-hero film can succeed.
  2. Since it looks like the old one is buried more than one year back.
  3. Mike is a great boardie to deal with - fast payment and good communication. Thanks again, Mike!
  4. Really? I'm seeing lower prices on most mid-lower grade books. What are you seeing heating up since the spring? The keys/1st apps/hot covers are up, most commons are flat or down. Just like most other years, I guess. The thing is the "key" pool is ever expanding... Which is great for long time collectors with long boxes full of the drek, but not for short term "key" chasers that get sucked in......

  7. Is this a warning sign that the bubble is about to burst, or that the market is ready to leg up again for late BA #1s and keys?
  8. Not surprised at that at all. I didn't have trouble moving Fine copies for $20. I paid $35 for two VF to NMish copies last year at NYCC. Finding a high-grade of #1 was the second item on my list (after a Marvel Super-Heroes #13; managed to get one of those in about a Fine for $70). Interesting. I picked up a high grade copy for $10 a couple of weeks ago while on vacation and passed on two other copies in similar condition. Looks like I will have to contact the store to grab them now......
  9. Looks like there will be some more fuel for Supes Adventures #5 prices now.......
  10. Very nice. The next three to four years will be great for comic/sci-fi fans between the DC, Marvel and Star Wars releases.
  11. Go back a few pages and you will see the debate re: 1st SA Aquaman books.
  12. It just hasn't been a relative title for years. I hope the show changes that, villains in DD have always been more on the lame side. Daredevil, with a few notable exceptions, has always been on the lame side Easy, now... DD's probably had the best stories of any mainstream character over the last 15 years, from the Bendis run, into Brubaker, and then Waid. Based on the number of relaunches, the market begs to differ with you. You have market confused with corporate strategy. Not at all. Marvel, and DC, have the same strategy - as sales drop on a book they shake up the creative team and issue a new #1. It has been this way since the Heroes Reborn relaunch in the 90s. Prior to that they just changed the teams and kept the numbering consistent. How often has DC cancelled a title only to immediately start a new (essentially) identical title? Marvel is the one with a phobia of double-digit issue numbers. Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Justice League and Suicide Squad (New 52 and New) come to mind right away...........
  13. Niiiiiiiiccceee! I don't have any to sell but really enjoy his acting. Awesome! So does that mean Preacher #51 will go even higher now? All my Preacher 51's sold today. On eBay? If yes, how many went to boardies.

Based on the number of relaunches, the market begs to differ with you. its entirely possible that you've drawn too close a correlation between story quality vs the number of relaunches. The stories have been okay. I will take the Snyder Batman run over any of these DD story arcs......... The Bendis and Brubaker runs were much better than okay. I could agree with the Waid runs being okay. Largely because there were too many spots were it was very so-so. I don't understand the relevance of the Batman story being better than the DD stories. Not looking for all the all-time best stories. Seems a little too DC vs Marvel. Patrick I do not intend it to be DC vs Marvel, just that the DD runs were not the best stories IMHO. Part of it could be my bias towards the character (i.e. I am in the DD is lame camp), but there were other books during that timeframe that I liked better. The Brubaker DD run was good to very good, but just like his Cap runs they leave you wanting more as they tend to lose some of their momentum along the way. That being said, I liked the arcs in the Brubaker Cap run that I read better than hi DD. His style reminds me of Geoff Johns - they start out great but but they do not finish as strong for whatever reason.
  17. There were 15 or 16 people in the theater for FF. On opening weekend. On a Saturday afternoon. With clouds and rain looming outside. Word of mouth spread fast from Friday night? The funny part is this - people that were planning to hit FF may just opt for a second viewing of Ant-Man instead.

  20. Galactus will appear in the next FF movie from Fox.
  21. There will definitely be another movie due to the fact they need to put one out at some point to retain the rights.
  22. The funny thing to me is that people expected this movie to do well. Look at the first two FF movies - they were mediocre, but passable due to the cast and appearance of the characters. All you had to do was look at the casting choices and the first few images of the characters in costume to see that this was going to be a pile of massive suckage........
  23. Sounds like a good plan. You should have more than a few at this point. (thumbs u
