  1. Interestingly, according to boxofficemojo.com, based on inflation adjusted returns TDK and TDK Rises both top Iron Man 3, as well as the original Sony Spider-Man and the old school Batman from 1988. Only the Avengers has grossed more, topping TDK by $20 million. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm In any case, SW The Force Awakens will likely top both of them.........
  2. Karl/artboy99 has been getting full GPA (or a bit above ) in grade for raw copies of BA #12 for a while now at local shows. As far as pricing, last year I put my 9.6 ASM #361 up at $250, and it sold within an hour. I did not think it would move so I kept my #362 9.6 in the box. I quickly put it out at $150 and had it sell right away. My only concern is that at $2500 it will sell and then I need to try to replace it. At the current exchange rate for those of us up here that may not be as easy as it seems.........
  3. Well, the 5.5 ended at $5550 on Clink, which is a nice jump from the last GPA sale. I guess it is now a $1000 per grade point book.
  4. And coming up small in crunch time in the big games........ Oh yeah. He is clearly the one to blame for that meltdown last year Everyone has their opinions. If the face of the franchise keeps any one of three drives going in the 4th quarter, they win. Exactly. A more clutch QB would have closed things out. The reason GB lost was the offence's performance througout the game. FWIW, the game should have been over after the first half the way their defence dominated. Rodgers did not put the points up then it it cost the team in the end........
  5. Interesting. I actually thought it would be lower (closer to 5%) due to the black cover, but if that % still makes it harder to find than other late BA/early CA keys in 9.8 then that is another factor working in its favor. (thumbs u
  6. Lastest GPA recorded sale on April 12, 2015 - $1200 - is a new high. This book is slowly creeping up. That's a pretty good size bump over the last sale. I wonder if JSC's obsession with the character has anything to do with it. -J. Not sure. To be honest, I long thought that this book was an undervalued key and it looks like the market is now correcting (or overcorrecting - there are a lot of copies out there) towards that. I would say right now it is more due to premature movie speculation than anything else. That being said, once the Black Cat is confirmed for a Spidey or other Marvel movie this book will run up fast. Spidey fanboys + Marvel fanboys + Movie hype = big win!

  9. dont go giving it away for 2k My thoughts exactly! I might as well put up my BA Ann 1 and Mad Love in 9.8 as well and see what happens.
  10. I am going to take my 9.8 and price it at $2500, or maybe even $3000, this weekend at the Calgary Expo. It will be interesting to see if there are any serious buyers at that price.
  11. I found a couple of leftover copies of NwM #1 1st print in a long box I dug out the other day - I am going to put them out at $5 apiece at a show this weekend to see if they sell.
  12. Seeing as there are really no other sales of Todd the past week or two and the last set of #1-8 1st print sold for just $20, I wonder if this sale is real?
  13. How is E.S.'s new book doing? I picked up #1, it was , so I stopped there. Mind you, as long as speculators keep lining up for any new Image #1 he does not really need to worry what a few people post on a message board........
  14. What's the issue with that slab identified in the notes? Hey, I had to pay for them.
  15. That's incredible for a book that was $3 until a month ago. I would say that this book is hard to find in the wild in great condition. lots of copies i've seen have issues True... the white cover picks up ink/dirt pretty easily, the back cover is all black... which causes ink/dirt to rub off. Plus a lot of these have been in store stock for years because they were popular but not impossible to find. Supply was there, so that supply has been handled. Someone has at least a small hoard of them, though, because two new CGC 9.9 showed up on the census this week with several CGC 9.8. I don't know if they were fast-tracked or if they happened to be in the queue already. In 2003/2004 a small local dealer was trying to move a long box or so of Rai #0s (plus more Turok #1s, Ninjak #1s, etc) that he got on consignment. It was old store stock from a LCS that had gone under. I wonder where they all went as the couple of copies I pulled out were 9.8s. A lot of them were single bagged so they did not pick up the dust/ink transfer you commonly see in store stock books.
  16. I decided to check out the graders' notes on it due to the lack of large high res scans from Clink as I was curious to see what was wrong with it. Now, I am not so sure it will hit the $5500 - $600 range. It is a nice looking copy, though.
  17. I'll go out on a little bit of a limb and say $5500-$6k. -J. It could hit that high as well. I guess $1000 per grade point is not outrageous.
  18. $5k ish? For whatever reason, 6.5 is the grade that SA keys start to pop at.
  19. OK How about this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-5-Combo-Pack-Variant-DC-Comics-new-52-Rare-HTF-Scott-Snyder-Capullo-/321694423027?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae67b57f3 Sweet. I have a few of the #5 combo pak versions sitting in one of my modern long boxes someplace...... time to go fish them out, I guess.
  20. Did he actually do that? If yes, that is a douchey move. It does not matter what type of grail book a collector has, the important thing is that they have a collecting goal in mind and achieve it. (thumbs u
  21. Under 600 I didnt order any. I think the price is too high. Sorry But thats just my opinion They'll be higher for a few months and in a year you will be able to get them for $20 or less. There were enough of these printed and they went to enough 'speculators' that they won't be locked up in people's collections. We will see. 5000 copies for a Star Wars variant featuring an extremely popular character is not a lot of copies at all. The fanbase for non-comic Star Wars dwarfs the number of SW comic collectors.
  22. I am not going to look, but my guess is that he is not a naysayer in threads for books that he owns.
  23. Dang! Thats a nice trade, someone needs to step up and give this guy his 9.8. BTW, that previous 9.8 sale was legit. Was that your book? If yes, congrats! And, as a 9.8 owner, thanks!
  24. Might be a good time to start listing some of my duplicates then?
