  1. We have been getting $60 for 9.0 - 9.4 raw copies for two years now at local shows......... Unbelieveable....I am so glad I've been hoarding them for the past year I believe that one of the other boardies that sells with us has been getting as high as $80 for raw 9.2/9.4 copies here and there as well.......

  3. Not sure if this is legit based on the winning bidder's history with the seller (newbie with 100% bidding on 1 item), but if it is then the entry point for BA #12 has been raised: Batman Adventures #12 CGC 6.5
  4. Nice. I landed a couple of copies of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends #1 and UXM #193 in a collection this week.
  5. But.......since Otto had a thing for her, maybe Superior Spider-Man does?
  6. If this is real then to the buyer (and for the seller) http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Factor-5-6-Both-CGC-9-0-First-Appearance-Apocalypse-/271339191665?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3f2d137d71&nma=true&si=NswcOAgX2qhXmsMi1dYrh%252Flirt8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  7. I have been doing that for a couple of years now, and know others that have been doing this for longer. You can still land collections with Copper keys for dirt cheap, dump the common books for a small - medium sized profit, and then hold the keys/1st apps for further appreciation. As Marvel and DC start to roll out more TV shows/movies that introduce lesser tier heroes and villains there will be further room to grow. It is a fun area to speculate in right now. Even the pricier books have seen a nice jump over the past couple of years. Just last year you could find NM- or better copies of NM #98 for $75 and ASM #300 for $75 - $100 respectively. Now they are both $150 books in that condition. I did the same with building small hoards (12 - 20+ copies of each) of BA books in 8.0+ when I got back into collecting in the late 90s, focusing primarily on top Adams books (e.g. Batman #227, 232, 234, 251; GL #76; Tec #400; Avengers #93 + a few others) and lower priced Marvel and DC keys/1st apps (unfortunately, that meant no Hulk #181s or GS X-Men #1s ). This was before they took off and it worked out very well for me. Unfortunately, I sold most/all of them between 2003 - 05 when they made the first big jumps. If I had only held on to the best copies a little longer........
  8. Me too....So glad I hung onto them. Too bad you did not package them up to me with the other books..... If I recall correctly, the two copies in this collection might be CDN newsstand copies as well. I know the ASM #252 definitely is, as well as others around that time, so I will add a couple more to the variant stash.
  9. I am glad I snagged a few X-Factor #6s for cheap this past year and the collection I pick up on the weekend has a couple more.
  10. Awesome. Here's hoping it provides a bump to the Suicide Squad New 52 run - I still have a few early issues left.
  11. There are a ton of books spiking now in SA/BA/CA and even MA. If it is a key or 1st appearance it will likely gap up. Add in the fact that Deathstroke is on the Arrow TV show as well and I am surprised it is not selling for more.
  12. There is always someone willing to part fool from their money, so whether it happens here or somewhere else it will still happen.
  13. Story and significance -wise, Batman #232 is above Bats #222, 227, Tec #400 (and even Tec #395. The Tec #31 cover swipe is the reason #227 is currently selling for higher prices, and lower HG supply is why #222 and Tec #400 are pricier in high grades. However, if you look at lower grade copies, Batman #232 and #227 are closer in price until the 9.0 grade. The "entry price" for a Batman #232 has been creeping up significanlty over the past year or so. VG copies that sat for $50 are now quick sales in the $100 - $125 range.
  14. Interesting. I am snagging a run of that Justice League series this weekend in a small collection.
  15. I am in full agreement. I can't wait for Snyder to bring him into the New 52 Batman run.......
  16. I have always felt that Batman #232 is undervalued. We have seen it start to rise over the past year, but for a book that features the 1st app of a key villain + outstanding Adams artwork it has long been priced too low. (thumbs u
  17. There are a ton of 1st apps in the Copper Age to pick from, but it will be interesting to see which ones the market settles on as being worthwhile. Booster Gold was a fun read back in the day, but I am not sure it should be commanding what it currently is.
  18. I hope so!! I got a few of those. Hand 'em over ! This is the version of Booster Gold #1 you want to have.......
  19. Ernie is a great boardie to deal with. Fast payment and friendly communication.
  20. It's simple - common books sell for a discount here on the boards, eBay, Kijiji, etc., and even then most sit for a long time before moving. I am happy to break even or turn a smaller profit by selling off the common GA/SA/BA/CA books to my file LCS. They can turn them over fast, and I can keep my cash moving into more collections (and accumulate more keys for shows and/or my personal collection (thumbs u ).
