  1. Congrats! As others have stated, thanks for sharing. (thumbs u
  2. Buy a reading copy and you will find out - the story is not bad at all. (thumbs u
  3. The record price so far for a 6.0 is $4500...so it's just not ready for the next level yet. I would hold and wait for a breakout. If SC #22 follows suit with the other SA keys, then a pullback should happen after the movie is released. The time to buy will be later this year, or even next year, as the collectors and speculators move onto the next book (B&B #28 has sort of calmed down, but it looks like SC #4 is where the speculative money is heading to now ). In any case, I am waiting a bit longer to rejoin the club. (thumbs u Your timing has been good, but this one may act differently. Find one SC22 that suits you well...and be long and strong...forget the other keys. Agreed, but I think the next logical step is GA books, actually. Early SA DCs in high grade used to be fun but there are too many copies of most of them to hold my interest now. WRT SC #22, as much as we all like the book it will follow the other SA keys that ran up then pulled back after the movie. AF #15 was the exception, not the rule, since Spidey is a top 3 character/property. I think that it will be more like TOS #39, where there was a good run up then a plateau and slow pull back.

The ''thanks for ignoring my question'' Sorry, I believe that would probably be his 4th appearance as far as I know. That would be the biggest reason to own B&B #28 then, since the JLA is so blase now. (thumbs u

  6. I don't know if that will help. The articles I have read that mention their marketing strategy include the worst disatrous and mistake filled. Anybody going to do a before and after movie sales price check? We hear so much about movie hype. Why don`t we look at what are the average prices are for Showcase 22 now before the GL movie debut then go look at the prices a month or two from now. I like to see if the GL movie has any affect on the Showcase 22 prices. I want to see if this so called movie hype has any bearing on comic prices for the keys. Actually, it's costing me about $51,080 for a theatre stub to see it... That's some serious bread. Did they throw in a private "screening" with Blake Lively at that price?

  8. (envy) I didn`t buy it. I just celebrate any time someone who presses and resubs a book loses money! just looking at the heritage archives, i spotted 2 af15s that bumped from 5.5 to 7.0 and a 4.5 to a 5.5 and thats just with a quick scan. 5.5 to 7.0 seems shady. Not at all. It just depends on what the defect is. For example, my last GL #7 I bought knowing it had a nasty non-color breaking bend/crease at the spine as a 7.0 - otherwise it was a gorgeous copy. After pressing I expected it come back as a 7.5/8.0, but Joe was able to get it all out so it came back as a 9.0.
  9. It used to be a 9.2, and CGC should never have upgraded it to a 9.4, even after the book got cleaned. Actually.. guess I was wrong, the 9.4 Flash 105 is a newly graded copy (along with the 9.0 Adventure 247). I guess it does make sense, CGC may have had their loose periods before but never as loose or soft as they are right now. Maybe I should get mine regraded. You should do it. I just sent in a couple of more expensive books for a regrade based on some recent late SA/BA results I got back and upgrades that others have received (that I am aware of). The time to strike is now if you are looking at selling in the next year or two.
  10. Wow, went away with work for a couple of days and I missed out the most action this thread has seen in months! Congrats on the great purchase, peewee22! WRT a potential 9.2, the old Clink 9.0 has a definite shot at it with a pancaking. (thumbs u
  11. Congrats! Don't tell the wife and everything will be fine. What she is not able to confirm 100% without any doubt can't hurt you.........that much
  12. Yes, I can confirm it. Good luck with the sale. I hope you get your asking price. (thumbs u
  13. Not for a while yet. It is still only at 8.0 to 8.5 values........
  14. That bottom right corner wear looks familiar...............is this the A-1 copy that a fellow boardie and avid SC #22 hoarder won?
  15. Wow. I thought all of the more valuable Rocky Mountain books were "optimized" before being sold? I guess that means there is some upgrade potential with some of the others as well?
  16. It will be interesting to see what happens with SC #22 pricewise - has it plateaued and started to pull back OR does it still have legs to move a bit higher? In any case, there should hopefully be plenty to choose from after the movie. BTW, I am impressed with the action on the GL #7s (8.0 and 9.0) in the Clink auction. Looks like both will go for good prices.
  17. B&B #85 is an okay cover. The high price is more related to the relative scarcity in high grade than anything.
  18. I am watching those along with the 7.0 GL #1. Still have one copy left that I am probably going to sell that does not have the white strip or soiling issues that the copy in the auction has.
  19. If you are willing to pay the price, CGC 9.4 Bats #227s are available fairly often. If you are looking for raw copies instead, get in line.
  20. I don't know if there's that much left in it to get a full grade-point bump with a press It is worth a shot. I once had a 6.5/7.0 go to a 9.0................
  21. I would press it and see if you could squeeze it to a 6.0 and pocket a bigger return..........
  22. To be clear, there was no downgrade, the 6.0 is another book I purchased after I got the 5.0 I was referring to the 5.0. It looks way better than the last couple I had (thank you gift grades!).
  23. You are supposed to PRESS it first and then resub if you want a grade boost. Fricking noobs. Just kidding. Looks better than the last couple of 5.0s I owned from the front. Are there stains or other damage on the back that caused the downgrade?
