  1. Just more drek like those books in your sig line..............
  2. Every time I see that I copy I wonder how the heck it got a 6.0 with that corner chip on the front, AND how pages as tanned as they appear to be in that chip got CR/OW instead of LT/OW?
  3. If we wait long enough it might actually fall to reasonable market value!
  4. And it can sometimes take a bit longer than that. Basically, give yourself a month to receive the book from start to finish since they do not have it on hand.
  5. Nice snag. I am curious to see what kind of grade CGC would give it.
  6. Makes my 23 worth $15K Way too high for the 24. The #24 on c-link dropped in price a couple of thou Needs to be down more. You going for it. No. If I had it, that money would go toward an upgrade to my #22. Besides, it'd be more at home in a higher-grade set Good call. SC #23 and #24 are okay to have, but focusing on a nicer #22 instead will be a better move long term.
  7. Ditto, the PQ needs to be a numbered scale. More money for CGC and is a great idea. Yes, and I'd like it just to pin down the PQ to something everyone can understand. I've seen books with fragile paper that was nearly white, and tanned books with good strong flexible paper. I think of PQ when I'm handling a book, is it going to tear easily with the slightest pressure of a finger in the wrong way? I wish CGC would make a PQ scale that put priority on the paper strength and likelihood to take rough handling without tearing, plus the color factor for appearance. Right not it seems to be that they hunt the lightest square inch inside a book, and poof, that's the PQ color. I'm exaggerating I know, but I hope you see my point. I care about the long term life of the collectibles, the highest PQ rating should indicate that a book will last longer than the lower PQ. Regards, Great insight. Maybe a one to ten point PQ scale. I would rather just have them give any book I submit OW/W or W pages and leave it at that. Much easier for them that way.
  8. For sale Ryan ? Sure, why not. Drop me a PM.
  9. The PQ is less than ideal though. It is an old label book, though, so there might be hope for a PQ bump. I just found out today that the old label SC #22 with Cream pages I resubbed is now a CR/OW. In any case, I would expect prices on #23 and #24 to pull back after the movie hype dies.........
  10. Well, just ask Zaid how many years he`s been trying to find a buyer for his 9.2 copy. He would have no problem if it was SC #22 in that condition...............
  11. Looking at the top edge tear and all of the creasing on the bottom, I would put it at 3.5, maybe 4.0 on a lucky day.
  12. How come the new owner is not noted for this one?
  13. I have watched the trailer a few times now, and the more often I see it the more it grows on me. There is the potential for a good flick here, especially if the GL corps on Oa scenes are done well.
  14. Collecting high grade SA DC is a soul-sapping, spirit-breaking experience. Before or after selling them off? You did very well in accumulating a great collection. It was one of the reasons I sold them off. Collecting them became just too damn hard. Part of the fun was the challenge, but when you go for years without adding a single new copy to a particular title that you collect, you start to lose the thrill. That is the main reason I gave up, and I was also too cheap to snag some of the early GLs and others I was chasing before they ran up. I kept telling myself that it was foolish to pay big money for them when 1) they had stagnated for so long pricewise that there was no hurry and 2) there were sure to be more copies surfacing shortly. I dumped my GL #7 CGC 9.2 as soon as another copy popped up since I thought that was the tipping point. On the other hand, I did sell my handful of HG Flash issues at the same time and that proved to have been the smart move.

I was looking at doing a HG SA DC run a few years back but got disinterested due to a lack of supply. I did have a few nice copies that were tied/highest graded at that time, but nothing close to his collection, and some of the books I was interested in were locked away for a while. I do not have the patience to wait. Still have too much of the Marvel fanboy need for easy instant gratification in me I guess.

  17. This is why SA DC are way more fun. You can chase for years to find HG copies of some books. With SA Marvel, you can put a HG run of any title together in 24 - 48 hours if you have a big enough cheque book.
  18. Welcome to the 3rd best comic owner club in the entire hobby, next in line to only Action #1 and Detective Comics #27. (thumbs u Well, you're talking to a SA Marvel Zombie so not sure I agree with that assessment, but I am happy to land a copy of this book. My SA key collection is extremely lobsided so hopefully this will help a little I think most of us, if not all, in this thread started out as Marvel Zombies, but moved into a higher state of civilized existence with DCs.
  19. Will look great with my 23 7.5. Congrats on adding another one to the hoard of the best DC SA book by a longshot. If you pump any harder you`re going to burst a blood vessel! You ain't seen nothin yet. Some people are just born to sell.
