  1. Congratulations! No matter the married cover, it is a great looking unrestored Batman #1 with great pq that you got for a steal
  2. wow.....that is very harsh....especially the 7.0.
  3. Aaaargghhhh....I can't pretend to be calm any longer....I get all warm and fuzzy looking at this pic They look amazing!!! Were the books restored?
  4. OK, I guess that's not too shabby!!! I still like the Action 1 thru 13 group shot better. people have been known to call me crazy occasionally though!!! Well, if you insist. But best I could do from my old files was 1 - 10. The others were in the collection, but just didn't make the cut for this picture. Now, THAT is a handsomely groomed moustache The run looks just fine, too It looks like the Action #1 could have benefited a lot from a press.
  5. Definitely Have you thought about having it restored professionally?
  6. Thanks for showing that first page! Take a look at the publication information on the footer of the first page -- this was published before the United States entered WWII. A strong anti-Nazi sentiment is portrayed on that opening page with a swastika emblazoned on the skull and the three storm troopers. I suppose the "Red Death" might have been Fawcett's answer to Timely's Red Skull which, if I recall correctly, made his first appearance in March 1941. Very cool page! Imagine if that splash had been used as a cover. Instant Classic for today's collectors. The Smasher looks like he tripped and is about to eat it, but the splash looks AWESOME
  7. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I love this pic. I wonder if the kid in the awesome costume was reading the book when it was fresh out of print or some time later. Considering Cap America #2 came out only a month after Cap America's first appearance, the kid discovered and liked the character pretty fast and had a very fast sewing mom
  8. With only a couple exceptions, Superman #2 is rarely seen in grades better than vg-ish. Very nice copy
  9. Congrats, Mike Such a rare book and nice presenting for the grade
  10. I was the first $100 bid on this, the highest bidder for about 60 seconds, then someone outbid me. Would have made a nice Christmas present for you George. It sure would have, buddy
  11. Although I'm not a Captain America fan, I liked the way they did the movie and appreciated the charm of the 40's. I'd really like to see a 40's style Captain Marvel movie which would be suitable for youngsters as well. Not every DC movie has to be dark in order to be good...or liked
