I'm befuddled by the whole chain of events here. Like, if you're gonna scam someone, you're going to outright portray what you have as something it isn't. Instead, they opted to go to such lengths as to say "i don't know what I have". Any smart person immediately jumps to the conclusion that what the person is selling is fake. Like, what was the game here? What was the point of posting here, a place with hard core eagle eyed collectors, who were no doubt going to 100% confirm the authenticity (or lack thereof) of the book? None of this makes sense.
It’s trying to preempt the lie/scam. Always a sign when someone gives you a lot of information you didn’t ask for.

Regardless, I do really enjoy the Boys, and have high hopes for this. There are traces of what you are referring too, but there are also lines and scenes that seem that at least hint to a little balance. Like, I saw multiple ways to read the line, "Girls get it done," and they shied away from the modern trope that all girls instantly like one another, are friends, and are automatically the best.
I didn’t think there was anyway to read the line, “girls get it done,” except as mocking it within the context of the season and the characters. It was making fun of Marvel and focus group check marks.

My system works well so I bother , I had a return once in 3 and half years where it was not my mistake ,probably 3-5 that post office threw the book up to the ceiling and let it land where it may ! If you allow returns so easy then yeah you get returns more often , but I guess that,s just a theory .
I’ve always offered free returns (for the last 8 years, at least) and I’ve had someone ask for a return twice in that time - both of which were mistakes on my part.
I’m not a huge volume seller, though. That will make a difference just by the law of averages.

Nope, that’s it. Keep tilting at your imagined hypotheticals, I guess.

Yes.
And would also be an example of how incredibly often books are put with the wrong label, upside down, unsigned with yellow labels, signed with blue, foreign objects in slab, etc, etc. Which is what I was talking about.
But you have no idea how “incredibly often” it happens and is caught. It’s also totally irrelevant to the topic of QC issues if they’re catching problems before they become the submitters problem - which is what this thread is about.

If we say all these hundreds of errors are from simply not checking... Imagine how many times this occurs once you add the ones they caught.
Why would that matter? Wouldn't that be an example of QC working?

Modern and vintage mag submission still in SFG since 8/21 and I doubt that changes anytime soon.
Both moved to GEI today.

ME received 8/22 still stuck in some weird G/QC hole because I assume they don’t know what to do? It’s the book that had its cover detached from staples because the spine was pinched in encapsulation.

Modern sub received 8/25 shipped 9/6
One modern mag and one vintage mag sub received 8/21 still in SFG
ME on a destroyed book received 8/22 still stuck in some weird g/QC hole. Guess they’re trying to figure out how to credit me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Saw it last night and it was great.
It reminds me of a late 80s or early 90s BIG IP movie for all the reasons that we remember those type of movies fondly. It was surreal, funny, well paced, deeply sad, disgustingly uplifting, corny, weird, and smart. But not too much of any of those things. It's also pretty amazing Mattel let that movie be made.
Am I remembering the He-Man movie wrong in that it also fades to white and He-Man becomes human?

Whenever I sent in a ME, they've always refunded me the shipping. They just had me scan the receipt and send it to them. Of course, this was before the new owners. This isn't an automatic refund these days?
My last ME, they sent a prepaid label.
edit: this was earlier in the month

First FB Marketplace score in a longgggg time!
Saw a listing for a bunch of Dark Horse Mask comics. As I was going through the photos, I saw a typed list that had "Evil Ernie 1 3 4 5" in a separate row as the Mask books. I shoot a message over asking if those are also for sale and the guy responds, "Didn't realize I had those in the list. If you spend $10, I'll give you those for free." I'm IN! I check out his other listings and we make a deal for 3 different theme lots he put together. The first was horror, the second was movie related books, and the 3rd was Cherry Poptarts.
When I got home, found a Cherry Poptart #1 1st print in the pile that wasn't pictured in the listing! And those Evil Ernies? Oh babbbbbby! $30 well spent!

Seems to be a bottle neck at g/QC for several of my submissions. Hopefully that’s a good thing. Things have been sitting there for a week.

Incredibly penny wise and pound foolish. Save money on boxes and tape but then lose money with more MEs.

I would expect nothing less from David and those goons.

Here's something that's new to me:
Ever wonder why your newsstand books aren't broken out on the census even though the notation is correct on your CGC label? Look up your cert number and notice that the Newsstand designation is going under "pedigree" instead of "variant".
Mark Millar: Marvel, DC, And Independent Comics Only Make Up 9% Of Comic Book Market In North America

I walked by a large newsstand last night (Larchmont in LA) and was just amazed at the amount of hyper specific mags that are still being published and that they sell enough to justify not only printing, but the newsstand itself.
it made me even more bummed for the loss of the comic newsstand market. From a new reader perspective, I got into comics because I’d be bored at the grocery store with my mom and look through comics while she shopped. Seems like it would even function as a decent loss leader to get new readers. Obviously they’ve crunched those numbers and it’s not possible but that loss of visibility isn’t helping the industry.
