The rule of the night: if you're only going to bring one book, go BIG!

This beautiful Christmas cover issue of Jumbo is the size of a placemat.  Open it up, and there's another cover inside with incredible red colors.  Mmmmmm.  Red. :luhv:

Amazing.   I've never seen a double cover of any of the humongous issues 1-8.....

I would also think #8 (GGA cover) would get a decent price, but I'm not testing the market. Mine is staying put; you don't see it often. I gave away four (from #'s 18-20-something) on here recently; they got claimed fast. If you're a collector of a specific niche, certain in-depth articles might lead you to seek out a particular guide, but I haven't met anyone who assembles a comprehensive set (though I'm sure someone is out there).

Unfortunately, I've got a full set.  Have both versions of the #1 and another odd version of #1 with a $6.00 cover price. Hardcover 2 and 3, etc... They take up a lot of space :p

So many great ones, but to answer the OP question gun to head style, my heart says tie between Cap 1 and 46. Impossible reductions aside, here are my contributions for contenders in the broader discussion:

Three great issues indeed.  The SS 16 makes my list for one of the scarcest Hitler covers too.

This is what happened to me 4 or 5 years back.  I needed a Cap 1 CF, had searched for 5 years with no luck to find one, but then a horrendously bad coverless copy of it came up on CC or CL.  All the wraps were split at the spine except the CF, and at least 6 pages had panels cut out.  In my mind I figured $4000 would be enough to win it (remember, prices were lower back then), but I got into a bidding war with someone else and I ended up shelling out $8000 for it.  I figured it might be my last time to realistically have a shot at getting the Cap 1 CF so I went all in.  I am SOOOO happy I did.

Beautiful copy and well done.  Married CF isn't a big deal to me, especially if the page quality of the CF is close to the other pages.

They seem to have been tougher on pq then than they are now.

But I'm wondering what the rationale is for no grader notes, particularly since there appears to be something important -- rusted staples -- to note.

All depends how rusty the staples were.  Light surface rust can often be taken off while avoiding the "qualified" label.........
