  2. I just listed some pretty hard to find books in the FS forum. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2446162&page=0&fpart=1
  3. Geez, what lottery have you been playing? I agree with you about this cover - it certainly gets oveshadowed by the preceding issue.
  4. Sweet book! I love the contortion in the guy being held by the bat thing.
  5. Somehow I had convinced myself it was Severin. Right you are.
  6. I have the original Russ Heath cover artwork to BATTLE ACTION # 3 (see link at bottom). Very interesting to see a page from the printed comic-book. New in to my collection this week is John Severin's original cover art to MARINES IN ACTION # 14: There were a few more Severin covers with this theme, here's one I have.
  7. I've been waiting for this! Great piece. It looks great in B&W too!
  8. reminds me of the overrun perimeter scene in Platoon. Platoon.... I think that was the first R-rated movie my dad took me to.
  9. So it only took me a month or so to get this picture up.... This is from Battle Action 3, and it's a full page Heath splash. I can't recall seeing another.
  10. Well done Andy! And geez Mick - I can't take that this early in the morning!
  11. Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd trade three 'Tec 35's for those! Awesome, awesome, AWESOME Ryan! Congrats.
  12. it can sometimes be a very nice store to visit, it's the same CB store where the famous 9.6 JLAs came from. and it seems that everytime I'm in there, someone has brought in some vintage books to sell to the owner. You really got that at your LCS?!?!? His LCS is insane. I picked up a Black Cat 50 and Weird Tales of the Future 2 there once. I've got an excellent LCS, but that's unreal!

  14. Jesus H. !! what was the grade on that beauty ?? 8.5! I bought a 9.0 Toronto from Heritage that looks like a FN compared to this. It just proves that a grade can't tell all.
  15. I'm not sure if I set a record or not, but it was incredibly easy to open relative to other slabs I've cracked out.
  16. ... I change focus every few years. You can't buy it all. Just keep collecting what you like (and it's ok for that to change).
  17. Nicely done! I would have been more aggressive on those had the PQ been better.
  18. "This true story may happen" - That doesn't even make sense. I may have to read that one just see what it's about. I thought the exact same thing. How can it be true if it hasn't happened?
  19. Sweet book Matthew! Now you've got me wanting to read it...
  20. Sweet pickup for under $2! I could go with Kida, although I thought he usually signed his covers. And that Battleground 13 is SWEET. Someday I'll get me one of those.
  21. I recently re-scanned this one and it turned out so well I had to show it off.
  22. That it is. The first time I saw it was as a Heath re-creation in Greg Pharis' store in SD.
  23. Yup. I think the fact that a lot of them weren't 9.4 helped keep them (reasonably) affordable. But as you said, it's a WM Atlas. They're not exactly growing on trees, and a 9.4 Bethlehem or River City or non-ped might not be near as appealing. Congrats on the Uncanny Tales. Definitely the deal of his Atlas stuff. I think his Funny Picture Stories nn was an ultra-steal as he didn't market it appropriately. There are only 3 copies of that of which I'm aware.
