  1. I had to save all my pennies for this one, but it was worth it. I figured I won't get many shots at the WM copy of what may be Heath's finest horror cover. I'm going to try to set a record for time from receipt to cracking of slab.
  2. I may be letting quite a few books go in the near future as I try to focus my collection down.
  3. Andy, very true..... though, not all GA collectors, mainly just me and my "grails" this one, this one i plan to have around for much longer......... i know this because there is no other book in the world i would rather have! B. It's not just you though. I have noticed a lot of golden age collectors go nuts over a book and then sell it soon after. I am occasionally guilty of it myself...though I only ever had one book that I considered a grail, my Mask 2, and that will never be sold. The one that takes the absolute cake is the guy who made a post about how he had been waiting for a 9.0 copy of ASM 13 for forever, and how this was his grail that he wanted more than anything. The book popped up in the marketplace THE SAME FREAKIN DAY. That one about knocked me out of my chair. It's not the having, it's the acquiring.
  4. Great book! One of my favorite AS covers.
  5. Battle Action 3 has a really nice page like that by Russ Heath. I'll try to take a pic sometime. Other than those two, I can't recall any.
  6. That's not a bad looking woman. And she has the capacity to shave her pits in the jungle. She must be resourceful.
  7. Geez Andy! What lottery did you hit? Great books!
  8. Nice books. Those Torontos? If so, how's the paper?
  9. With a textbook "Heath explosion" to boot!
  10. What great background detail on the cover. Congrats!
  11. WOW! What great perspective. DC sure had a thing for man vs. plane images.
  12. Here are a few recent pickups. I can't get the colors right on the MIS 45, but it's a really bright copy. The MIS 46 was a book I had never realized was a washtone until recently. However, I was really delighted by the Murphy Anderson story inside. It's STUNNING art. I'm not sure if it was a different inker (looks like Al Williamson) or just an exceptional effort by MA, but it's wonderful. I've always been a MA fan, but this was just great to find.
  13. Exciting 39 - wowza! Exciting 39 and Thrilling 41 - yowza! Exciting 39, Thrilling 41, and Wonder 1 - WOWZA YOWZA! What a score Mike!
  14. Don't overlook the Clue Comics. Those were pretty decent and some of the early ones had a character called "Stupid Manny". Doesn't get much better than that.
  15. Sell all your Atlas war to me and move on to another DC title.
  16. Yup. That's getting my vote. Post one new thread a day. Or add to one thread a day. The beauty of this is that you then can break your sales items down into as many threads as you think appropriate, given their nature, but you can't pimp more than one at a time. (thumbs u What if you sell something from more than one thread in a given day. How do you acknowledge that?
  17. Paul, I tried to get this book from my local comic shop and they couldn't get it through Diamond. I like to support them when I can, do you know if there's a way for them to still get this or do I have to go through Fantagraphics?
  18. *Blasphemy alert* I'm not such a huge fan of Fantastic 3. *End blasphemy alert* I prefer Science 1, 2, Weird 2 among Fox books, and others by FH/Quality. Therefore MMC 9 for me.
  19. This might not be the exact right place to post this, but I don't think it's the wrong place either. I love this piece. I'm like Sir Mix-A-Lot...I'm hooked and I can't stop starin' (geez that was bad).
  20. Or crack the dang thing out of that plastic tomb!
