  1. #53 - Blastaar, the most “unique” version of the silver surfer I’ve ever laid eyes on - and likely the roughest book of the lot - $5
  2. #27,28,29 - binder holes again, nice color, totally readable. Doesn’t 27 look crazy bright for being old with binder holes? That’s because it was a test book for whitening. - $45 for the lot. - CLAIMED
  3. Hi, First time selling here. (But not first time selling), listing some lowbies between X-Men 13 and 53. I can take PayPal or Venmo easily, PayPal preferred, but really any form of payment is fine (check, MO). Shipping starts at $5 media and probably caps at $10 depending on number of books, and is combined, The books will be packed securely and commensurate with their value (like these will be secure but not in Geminis unless you’re taking several. I could ship internationally or to Canada but don’t know rates off-hand so we would have to work out whatever shipping method works for you at cost to you. I don’t know how to find the little guy with the sign on here yet, but him or TAKE or 1st deal via PM takes it. UPDATE - found him Open to offers, especially on bundles. I’m using covrprice for pricing but am not under any illusion as to the value of these, so have at me if the price seems off. Please let me know anything I’m missing here. I’ll have more stuff coming up soon, and am going to try to keep the threads targeted. Still Available: #41, 43, 44, 45, 53 Thanks! Bill
  4. It’s definitely fine as is and I got it at a good price, but I don’t really care for slabs and am mostly buying books to improve now. There’s an argument for working on the tanning regardless of whether I keep it or sell it which is just to make it look nicer, but yes I would want to be very ginger with the pressing, especially since it’s really nice and flat. And I think given page color, etc, if I was doing a real test of re submitting for a blue label, I would be doing the whole book for consistency. A long, fun project. Thanks for the input!
  5. Thanks for this - and yeah my main impetus for getting this particular copy was that I’ve been working w removing tanning w BLED/sometimes HOP method. I have some books about to go to CGC to see if they get dinged and that will help me know whether to crack this one.
  6. Marvel’s last important 10 center! one of my favorite in my collection because the interiors are so peachy and the story of its acquisition led to a great friendship
  7. I believe there’s also one less background figure on the cover of the GRR
  8. This looks like my absolute favorite qualified label ever. Some bs I would have tried to pull at 14 or 15 https://www.ebay.com/itm/373097599882
  9. When they admitted it, do you have any recourse? Did they suggest any remediation?
  10. Thanks! The edges look even to me. I’m more/also wondering about the tears near the bottom of the back spine and whether those destine it to only ever be a 7.5. Excuse my messy work area!
  11. Hi, I recently acquired a CGC 7.5 copy of Marvel Super Heroes 20, with The thought of cracking and improving it, since the main grader’s note was about tanning. I’m surprised at the crookedness and smooshedness of the spine for a 7.5. I’m betting I could improve the spine w a press, but it would still have that tear. So, the question is - do we think this book would ever be above a 7.5 with no tanning and a press? Thanks for your insight!
  12. I had it as a 2.5 as well. Super cool book! Thanks for posting it
  13. I’m thinking a very very nice 7.5. God, what an awesome issue. Thanks for the great close ups of the interiors too!
  14. WAIT A SECOND WAIT A MINNIT! So is there a cap on the grade a book with a stamp can get? Asking for some other guy with 25 gorgeous FF issues with stamps
  15. That readers crease on the rear is a stacking curve that I’m currently pressing out, noted on all the rest thanks so much for your attention. Interested to hear other views as well
  16. Hi, I am in a situation where I have to sell some books acquired near the top of the market in this current market. In the past few months, I’ve noticed that - on Heritage, for example - high grade silver books (say 9.2 and above) can still demand a premium. So, my current plan is to identify books from my collection that I think are in that range, get them graded, and list those for sale. Before I invest the time and money, I wanted to know if anyone in the forum has contrary advice, specifically something like “that may be true on heritage but only there” or “only above 9.4 and only white pages.” Thanks in advance for the help!
  17. Funny, I was gonna say 4.5, but possible up to 5.5 after schmutz removal, but the chipping might keep it at a 5. I just got my copy of this! A purple label, but you gotta read the fine print. "Small amount of glue on spine", half price of a blue label. Plus there's no guilt in cracking a purple slab - what's the worst that can happen?
