  1. Question to the room.....what do you guys use for lighting? What type of protection do you have for your comics to prevent light damage over time?
  2. Ya exactly. And just to clarify, when I bought RMA's maxx black back in 2008 I believe it was, it was a record sale. I have no qualms about paying good money for the ashcans, but the asking prices on these 'test' books is sheer lunacy.
  3. "Been Told" Are you the seller of this book? It's alright if you are, no need for secrecy here - we're all friends!
  4. Outstanding! I love those wooden comic boxes, did you make those yourself?
  5. Since the internet era, key books on Overstreet have always badly lagged actual prices. I have an Overstreet from 1991 and it's interesting to see what book values are......also, they never adjust downward. I would say this is actually a worst crime, because there are many $3 and $5 books listed that you would be lucky to get a $1 for. So if someone uses overstreet to sell their comics, they'll probably get ripped-off on their keys, won't be able to sell the other books and left with a pile of unsellables.
  6. The Yellow 2 I bought a few months back I paid maybe $100 more than I paid for the previous copy I bought 13 years ago.....both raws in the same condition, and if you look at many of the sales of the blues and reds the prices have been more or less steady in a range.
  7. It's a manufactured test book. Rarity doesn't tell the whole picture. If you think it's such a great buy, why don't you buy it. And wasn't that yellow 3 your copy you put for sale? You didn't even mention that you were selling it, were you concerned that the book wouldn't sell?
  8. No, that's retarded.....this is a test book put out by Wizard, what do you think the original art cover of this book would go for if it was listed today?
  9. I love the multi packs on the spinner rack, I'm going to start adding multi packs to my rack!
  10. Ya, and that would be a gift. How does the back cover look?
  11. You're 100% going to jail, CGC jail, then real jail - whichever country/state/province you live in. Please leave your comics behind, we'll find them a good home.
  12. The UK copy's colours (hehehe) are so bright it makes the US version look discolored even though it's a very sharp copy!
  13. If you feel like they can get 9.8, sure....hard to say without seeing scans. Don't feel too bad about that, we all sell stuff. In 2005 I sold off all my MTG in a bulk ebay sale for a pittance of what they'd be worth now. I collected very heavy in the Revised days (stopped playing when I was around 16/17) and had multiples of all the big ticket cards now, which would be worth thousands of dollars now.
  14. Well tell us when you want to sell! :)
  15. I see his shipping he limits his sale to certain customers? Definitely could have gotten more, that 2.5 I sold via FB to a friend of a friend was 15k CAD. I think this also the beginning of the correction, recent low sales will follow with others until we see a downward trend....
  16. Random trips are definitely not worth your time, it's not even close...now if you're spending time with family or going for a walk and stumble across a yard sale it's different, but the best deals are usually from asking around and trying to find stuff that's not advertised.
  17. I put all my top tier keys in a cat-%@$ stained short box labelled 'free $%*@ '.
  18. This is a good point...there are a number of collectors that post about having garage sales as a good way to get rid of cheap books - no way in hell I'm advertising to the comic community where I live. Politics and socio-economics aside, counting on a policing body to recover stolen property is a moot point and shouldn't be counted on. We need to be smart and protect our belongings, a few years back I knew of a major theft in my city - tons of valuable comics (TMNT 9.4 first print), pokemons, cards, etc - the owner had them in a storage facility in his building. I felt bad for him, but why on earth would you have collectibles not upstairs in your condominium unit???
  19. Lol so true.....I bet in ancient Roman times the imperial guard would be like, look we're dealing some Germantic tribes here, I don't care about your dumb trinkets!
  20. Sorry I didn't mean to make light of your loss, this post is a bit strange is all.....maybe the old sugar in the gas tank trick would make you feel better?
  21. The problem with stolen Jetson comics is you won't be able to find a buyer for them.....so if you pretend to be a buyer in a sting operation the seller will know something is up!
