  1. I have enough of these now to make a group shot worthwhile. I blame Chuck Rozanski for this. One of his emails years ago mentioned EC comics as being the best ever - I'd never seen one and thought I should check them out. I like them all, but have settled on War and Scifi for now. This is the result (so far).

Nice. Whatever you do though, don't listen to Chucks tattoo recommendations
  2. Yes the CGC is responsible for the Watchmen #1 price being 3k initially. The CGC is aware that the first copies will sell for outrageous prices. We all know this. The CGC could put other measures in place to prevent the prices from getting out of hand, and to prevent from people losing money. I know that is a strange idea to entertain, but it would prevent a lot people from getting seriously hurt. You don't mind watching others get hurt sir? Oh it's their fault right that they trust a CGC product to maintain it's value.

Perhaps a ceiling price would control things on certain hotter books. I don't know. They are responsible for people losing a lot of money. I do not see how you could possibly blame an unknowing buyer, unfamiliar with the game, for getting caught up in the CGC hype. Hasn't everyone gotten caught up in the hype at one time or another? That's what hype is!! Something that comes along and swoops you off your feet. Are you immune to hype?

They are good AND bad for the hobby. They preserve books in a certain way, maybe not the best way not using mylar.., but prices are artificially inflated and we all know that. You pay for the plastic and the service. That is acceptable. What is not acceptable is people losing thousands of dollars when they invest their FAITH and TRUST in a CGC product.

How much money you lose Greengod ?

So many funny quotes in this lol The one in bold may be my fav. Swept off your feet by hype. Hilarious. Regulating the prices is just insane lol

  3. [font:Book Antiqua]I Check the CGC Census

And there its ONE AND ONLY ONE copy of Batman # 1 signed

If you are the owner (And the one in the pic it’s not a reprint)

    CONGRATULATIONS

May I ask who sign it....?

    I am guessing

    Jerry Robinson

Since you have an original art from him....[/font]

:gossip: The Batman # 1 is a reprint not that theres anything wrong with that. I for one would love to own a reprint signed by Jerry.

  4. Holy Gator, our collections are so similar it's eerie

Oh wait, I just woke up :(

Those are some sweet looking GA classics

if you have comics in your collection, then they are similar ...only the titles and page counts change (thumbs u

I just wish there were more reprints available for the more obscure golden age. Always wonder what is inside some of the more obscure ones.

  5. Wow... how do you (general question open to anyone) find such pristine raw copies?

** Sort of a rhetorical question I guess...

He got them all from a single private collection from a guy who was at the Vancouver Comic Con a while back.

    :rulez: shh (tsk)
