  1. Nice. I liked that Spectre page and had it been there when I bought the aquamans, I would have more than likely bought it. Great pieces.
  2. His work is amazing. I bought the Aquaman 7 (first "the Others") cover too. He also did a Doc Strange for me (per request). They had a deal going at the time.. if you spend xxxx then Ivan would do a bust of a character for you. Since then, he no longer has time to do that anymore. His workload has picked up quite a bit since then. Do you have that cover posted anywhere? I'd love to see it if you do
  3. I picked these Aquaman pages up recently and I just got my order back from being framed. They will be placed in a low lit room with no direct sunlight. The Aquaman pages are from the New 52, book # 2, pages 1,2,3,4 and 5. It all starts with the Trench (I really like these characters) and I thought it would be cool to have them together. The other piece is with Ocean Master and the splash is from Justice League 15, page 22. All art is by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado inks. I know it's difficult to really see them well, while still wrapped in plastic, so I included them in a pic before dropping everything off for framing.
  4. It's not our business but with the cool story he posted about how the book was delivered I found it sad for him if he had sold it so fast (he seems to love the book). I am glad for him he still has it!! I can understand that point of view. When I buy books for my personal collection, I usually keep them unless I find an upgrade or a more important book on my list and said book goes towards a trade or sale for that purpose. As a dealer though, I treat inventory books quite differently as one would expect. There have been times where I buy a book for myself, get it in hand and I'm not as happy with it, so I end up selling it. This isn't going to be one of those times.
  5. Thank you. And that sig line.. What a great set of books.
  6. The last 2 pages explains it all. It is still in my collection and will be for a while. I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon unless I upgrade to a better copy but I'm quite satisfied with this one.
  7. Blazingbob.. Hey buddy. What's up good sir?
  8. Thank you Bomber. As usual, you're the man.
  9. While I can't get into the business details.. I can say that this was the copy that I was interested in and she pays very close attention to what I'm looking at and what interests me. She loves to surprise me on the holidays and she does an amazing job. I liked the way it presented and I also wanted white pages and she knew that. As far as the price is concerned, I'm sure its perplexing to some but again, it was a surprise and a very pleasant one at that so I'm not complaining. Sure, this is priced where some 7.5 copies have sold for in the last year (1 that I know of specifically at least) but I'm not concerned in the slightest. I'm very happy with such a thoughtful surprise and I really like this particular book regardless of the label.
  10. the book is part of my personal collection and has NOT been flipped. Im aware that the sale has been posted.
  11. While I already agreed that FF4 was the more established book/character , I'm standing by my favorite of the two fishy dwellers. Hollywood or no Hollywood, I like Aquaman.
  12. Personally, I'd prefer showcase 30 as the book I'd choose for myself. With More Fun 73 being out of reach for some collectors, this is the "go to" book for Aquaman IMO. Both are cool books though. The FF $$ wise, was the stronger of the two books. In time, that may change but grade vs grade, there's still a big discrepancy.
  13. Agreed. Thanks by the way. She has surprised me with books quite a few times over the years but this one had the best set up/delivery.
  14. I'm very happy that it was the book to add to my collection rather than another fabulous speeding ticket to add to my collection. Thanks again to all the comments above as well.
  15. Thank you. He asked a few questions about the book and thought it was a cool gift.
  16. Finally in the club. Aside from Cap 1, this has been my grail for a few decades. Interesting story.. It's christmas day and I get pulled over by an officer from my town. He nicely asks for my license and registration.. I'm thinking.. I'm only doing 28mph in a 25mph zone but my car is an absolute magnet for getting pulled over. Surely, this can't be the reason I thought.. I asked him why I was pulled over and he tells me a tail light is out. My girl in the passenger seat isn't saying much..He goes to his cruiser, comes back and hands me my license and registration back and says.. by the way, someone wanted me to give you this..He hands me a frame with a pic of my new hulk in it. All 3 of us just started laughing..talked for a few minutes and we took a few pictures, including a shot of me sitting in the cruiser. She always manages to surprise me somehow but this one was easily her best attempt thus far. Figured I'd share that with you all. Please bear in mind, this was a personal book (not business related). The police officers that set this up for me were perfectly fine with my posting this on the forums and on my FB account but asked me to keep it as personal and not business (which I had no intentions of anyway). We always hear about the bad stories involving the police but we never hear about the good things that they do for people in their communities. For once, I didn't mind getting pulled over.
  17. Both Deadpool and Valiant books have sold well for me as they are collected by quite a few people. I've also sold some nice Silver age books and they can be viewed on the "Notable Sales" page.
  18. Agreed. The pacing was good and effects were great. The one liners...I could have done without a few of them. Yes! Can't wait to see what they do for a sequel. He's got quite a few characters that they could use in the sequel. Nightmare, Dormammu, Zom, Mordo, Clea, Morganna Blessing.. very happy with the outcome overall.
  19. Never seen many copies of that book in 9.4. Stunning book. Thank you. Picked it up from a good friend (and a fellow boardie) not long ago.
