it will be interesting for sure to see the final result in a few months. As much love and good reviews for Thor had from the start, some thought the movie might not crack $150 mill domestically so I am pleased to see the movie is close to $175 mill in the US and close to $435 mill worldwide.

In honor of Jeffrey Catherine Jones...I dug out this short run to scan. Jones did one cover and the one that Neal Adams did (#2)..unless someone told me it was Neal, it might be the only work that I wouldn't recognize easily. the printer crease on the top edge of #1 made the book look worse than it is.

I definitely didnt think it would jump nearly that high. btw, What the hell happened to the 9.4? I dont see it on the auction list anymore? THe 9.4 sold for $100k I believe reserve not met. I've seen that bad miswrapped 8.5 before. I think it was previously auctioned before and sold under $10k if I am not mistaken. not that I keep track yet on those since there are so few, many of them are in GPA. One of the main reason I created this list is the lack of CL data in GPA. CL tends to have 1 to 3 copies of X-men up for auction each month so this list helped create a more complete picture for those that either don't have GPA or like to see how CL prices fall in general with GPA.

finally scan posted and looks like a fresh newly slabbed book. gorgeous white copy for you PQ nut....not that I know anything about this book but it wouldn't be a shock that this was press up from a 9 or 9.2 like the Mound copy on CL. http://www.pedigreecomics.com/auction-detail.php?issue_id=36717 throwing out the PQ difference...I really like the Pedigree book more than the CL copy. wow, didn't realize there is such a difference and I had to pull my copy out again to compare with my scan to make sure it wasn't "darken" by the scanner.....may be slightly but the scan is 95% close to the true color of the book.

I definitely don't have any SSWS pre-dino... this one does deserve to be shown in its full size glory.

sweet DC horror books there Scott That is one genre that I think DC shines so much brighter than Marvel in quantities and qualities.

at the heart of this hobby or any hobby is PROFIT and COMPETITION....so your wish for complete transparency on everything isn't something that fit anything with those 2 components. people (dealers and collectors) talking up a book so get a better prices when they want to sell? I am sure that NEVER HAPPENED...NOT! people (dealers and collectors) bashing a book to keep competitions away so they can buy it cheap?I am sure that NEVER HAPPENED...NOT! all that being said...spent some money with Matt and Zeman and I am sure you get a little more "insight" on PLOD.

I just picked up a batch of bronze slabs. mostly Conan 9.8 so if you need 31, 35, 43, 46, etc.... also a Conan 1 9.6 and few other books. I will list them on Saturday thru Sunday.

hard to say because a complete decent book with detached cover might be a blue 3.0 and with the cover reattached and a few CT here and there can easily be a PLOD 8.0. I might be wrong as far as a detached cover can only get as high as 3.0 but I have seen many nice GA books at 3.0 with that problem. In the end, only the restorer can answer with any certainty.
