  1. Yes - CCS can press those books, and they will retain the Yellow label. Getting unpressed 9.6s from your collection is a good sign of excellent preservation methods.
  2. Something tells me that, were you a speculator, a stupendous speculator you would be.
  3. Well if this is a "penny stock" investment for you, I shouldn't have wasted my time. Hope you score big.
  4. It shouldn't matter what it says on the slab. Comics history is littered with examples of appearances being considered cameos (which is a misuse of the term, most times) minor appearances etc, and "first full appearances" which become more valuable than actual first appearances. Factor in the current mania for appearances in non-continuity books like Previews, and you have quite menagerie of opinions and values. If you like the character and you like the book - get it. If you are paying speculator prices on which will become the most valuable book based upon consensus or it being printed on the CGC label, you are in danger of being "the greater fool."
  5. With Lee and Bulloch both gone, and this book being nuclear hot. I would take a baker's dozen of these. It's making me want to press mine . . . https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=36512&GSub=627
  6. As pretty as that front cover is, I would think it still makes 3.5-4.0 even if a couple of those chips crack off.
  7. I believe it is authentic. Also as a ball point on the splash page, it will have little to no effect on the grade. If it is a 9.6 it should stay a 9.6. If it is a 9.8 it could possibly take down to 9.6, but I will tell you I have had SEVERAL 9.8s with unauthenticated sigs on the splash, including one that was an owner sig, and not even a creator sig. Page color looks great.
  8. Agreed. Bindery tears often will not affect grade at 9.8 or below.
  9. This is how I always felt about Golden Age. I had no connection to it, other than Jules Pfeiffer's book. Plus by the time I was actively collecting in the mid-80s they were way out of my league price wise. I don't think you should feel sad or bad about not wanting older books. It should be about whatever makes you happy. You will take some flack about collecting "drek" but it's all good. Everyone's books were drek at one time or another.
  10. Well this is excellent. Since you are technically a CGC rep anyway, it sort of completes the circuit.
  11. 17 year thread necromancy. That is some deep magic.
  12. Hey Kenneth, A lot of these type of questions can be answered by vets, but I don't think this one can be. You should ask this in the "Ask CGC" section and an actual CGC rep will try to help you get your answer.
  13. What are you talking about "exceptions?" There has been an established chain of custody protocol for mail away SS for over a decade.
  14. Were you going to be happy paying $200 for the Regular Gold edition? If so, I am prepared to make you really, really happy.
