  1. Nobody is scared, bro. You can't grade to CGC's standards. Very few of us could until we took the time to learn and study. When one has achieved a certain level of expertise there are only very subtle grade differences that will be applicable (unless something is completely missed - which I have done many times, usually water tide lines or staining). So, you can continue to come off as a smug, caustic thumbsucker throwing his toys out of the pram, or you can learn how to grade. I'm pretty sure how it will turn out. Enjoy the toy throwing.
  2. Oh, yeah. Prolific for both DC and Marvel. Did soooo much cover inking between 75-78. Good call.
  3. @Ken Aldred Nestor Redondo and Rudy Nebres are the only other two I can think of.
  4. This thread rules. Full color full body Laytons just f-ing rock. Well done everyone.
  5. I think the drop in grade has to do with the size, quality and placement of the signatures.
  6. Yes! Also, that reminds me Don Newton's Shazam! was also awesome.
  7. Netzer did some 6 or 8 issue backup stories (most likely right before the DC implosion when the books went to "44" pages) I remember an Aquaman and a J'onn J'onzz. As a little kid I liked them as much or more than Byrne or Marshall Rogers who were my absolute childhood favorites.
  8. How did the Seth MacFarlane signing go?
  9. Depending upon how clean the sig is and where it is located, I would put my own money on Green Label getting more from a buyer than raw, especially if it is 9.4 - up.
  10. I agree that is potentially troublesome. Slab ‘em, sell ‘em and dice up that money.
  11. The fact that it is pressed is less scandalous than how awful Jack Kirby’s rendering of Spidey was!
  12. Maybe. We do wealth transfer cases all the time, and I would take either Jimmy’s case or the nephew’s case. I would also take either case on contingency. They both have enough interesting facts that I believe that nine times out of ten the baby would be split. In most Jurisdictions, Jimmy would have to resign as Executor. I also think in most jurisdictions the gift was not completed due to lack of tender of possession. The most interesting fact is that they subsequently “gave” him the book. I bet jurisdictions are all over the road on that type of fact. I doubt it would carry the day, but maybe. its a great fact pattern.
  13. The $500 in store credit will become an offer to accept the comics in exchange for an interpretive dance of the Tiger King TV miniseries.
  14. Looking forward to this content being re-posted every two years.
  15. We can do LJS - it’s sort of like reading Tales from the Black Freighter.
  16. Thanks for the concern. I’ll take your mom to Red Lobster with some of my Alan Moore bread. Is she on Tinder?
  17. Dont be sorry. I loved all my books, but after a while they owned me. Now I just make it rain like Pac-Man Jones all thanks to the Yellow Label.
  18. That supposedly has a hidden dong on it right? I never knew where it was - allegedly.
  19. My vote would go to Lois Lane 106 where she goes into a machine and comes out black (African-American). Ive had several copies because it is early Rose & Thorn, but every time I see it I’m like, jeez . . .
