  1. Here is to the death of fun. Enjoy the tumbleweeds all you crybaby spoons.
  2. Unless he gets another signature under the SS banner and it will come back Yellow/Green - so yes, as is no chance, but if you really want it in a CGC case it can be done.
  3. Who was originally a Charlton property in the 60's
  4. And kind of Adam Strange. The Zeta Beam was some kind of energy - possibly radioactive.
  5. Valentino did the Gem City Comicon in 2010 https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=7392&GSub=248 https://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=6993&GSub=2660
  6. I feel you. Once you have the grading down, the consistency is crucial to optimizing returns. As I've posted before I had a killer streak in 2012 of over a hundred 9.8 moderns in a row, and when the pendulum swung I was getting dinged between 10-20% 9.6. It's tough to deal with. Anyone can miss something from time to time but a 20% shift indicates a grading paradigm shift.
  7. Good to see you got a 9.8 after I turned your 9.6 into a 9.8 - sucka.
  8. Doesn't anybody ever actually read these stories? OML starts in 66. Bruce Banner is the leader of a skeevy incestuous cannibal cult. Logan is 40 years older than he is shown in the FF book. The OML character never existed before 66. The FF book is no more the 1st appearance of OML than Hulk 181 (or 180 if that floats your boat) is. This is after the fact hype machine pump dump retconning.

    Men

It's Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on Friday.
  10. I disagree with this - in its entirety. When someone posts a WTB for a rare book and a person has it, it doesn't mean they want to sell it or that they are a "seller." If you email them, let you know you have a copy, and tell them that they can make an offer, it gives them a lot of information. That doesn't mean you are now beholden to sell it to them for GPA or you are a "dbag." It gives them the opportunity to decide if they want to make a strong move at the book to acquire it or not. Whatever the case, they know where one is, if circumstances change, they get more information, or they decide they REALLY want it. If you have never collected truly rare comics, this may sound foreign. But I am here to tell you, that is how rare comics get moved. I think promulgating the idea that someone who identifies that they have the sought after book and they will move it for a price that motivates them, is a "dbag," is fundamentally wrong.
  11. Where did the "people rallying around him" occur? Was it in another thread? I just went back and read this whole thread. One boardie "Jaydee" suggested a little bit of leeway be granted. That's it. No rallying. He may have stolen your money. He may have died. Since I have been here SEVERAL boardies have died. It happens. Sticking to the facts and avoiding hyperbole will help with your credibility long term here.
  12. The last green label 6.0 incomplete sold for $265 which is absolutely crazy to me.
  13. I don't know what they will do, but I doubt it would grade even a 9.0. File that one away as a reader.
  14. You should never send a book in without doing a page count and grading it yourself. It may have been damage from handling, or just as easily may have been back cover damage that you never even knew about. You stated that you never read it, and bagged and boarded it immediately. it could have been damaged going into your pull file, being put in the Diamond box etc. The only way you have any credibility casting blame for the damage is to have documented the condition of the book going in. All of us have missed things in grading before, and admitting that you have never looked or handled the book other than bagging or boarding it takes away from the idea that it was mishandled.
  15. No jokes from me. That Power Record really affected me. I remember the ending being very sad and poignant.
