  1. "Silence the She-Devil!" That little dummy guy in the basket was definitely creepy.
  2. So far in my limited viewings of the new stuff "Time of the Doctor" is my favorite. Jerel's Old School pick would be "The Stones of Blood." It used to terrify me at six living in the Granite State of NH. My father had a couple upright slabs around the house as well. I get the willies with the Weeping Angel episodes as well.
  3. Really liked Turlough, too, especially once he settled in after the Black Guardian arc was past. I'd throw in Romana I, Liz Shaw and Nyssa as well. Interesting Turlough titbit... In Mawdryn Undead, the glowing crystal Turlough was holding got so hot, those looks of pain/discomfort in his face were actually real. Method actor.
  4. Even though her replacement wasn't an awful actress (somewhat too adorable for a Time Lord- Destiny of the Daleks- dressing up as a female Doctor) I was disappointed Romana I couldn't stay on for more episodes, to potentially build her character the way she wanted at least.
  5. My father was obsessed with Nicola Bryant. Maybe he was hoping for a wardrobe malfunction, but he would not believe she came from the UK with her American accent.
  6. Time for a Top 5 Worst Doctor's Assistants! Never cared for Polly, despised Adrick, Ace too, Perry was Perry, Teagan got better as she went along, The Doctor's daughter Susan acted like she was made out of cardboard. I think Turlough was the most underrated companion. He had a lot of depth through his battle with evil.
  7. Louise Jameson Katy Manning #firstcrushes Jenna Coleman is a cutie.
  8. This is stoopid, but did anybody notice that Peter Capaldi played the W.H.O. doctor in World War Z?
  9. Been a fan since '81. I might not have caught up with all the new stuff, but I kept watching the older stuff. Jon Pertwee was always my favorite. I even went as him for Halloween one year as a kid. I tried to combine Peter Davison and Tom Baker for one Halloween costume the year after. My grandmother knitted me the scarf in '83 (based on a picture in Time magazine-no internet, natch,) because there wasn't a lot of Doctor Who merchandise floating around New Hampshire in the mid-80's. Loving the Matt Smith stuff as well as the current Doctor. Watching "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" makes me feel like I'm seven years old again. I still have fond memories of watching the Tom Baker episodes on a b/w TV set (I grew up poor) and never seeing zippers in costumes, just the "magic" of the adventures. My father used to build me wooden boxes (spray painted blue) for a TARDIS toy. I used Star Wars figures as Doctors and aliens. I used extra bricks (about a hundred) to create large cities where he would land. I should write about this for a newstory.
  10. 2) A response to NEG's statement that Pertwee was better than Baker?
  11. OMG, I hated everything from his time as the Doctor. Hated his sweater. Hated Ace. Hated episodes like The Happiness Patrol. WTF, how could I forget the cheap creature effects like the "DeeJay". Sylvester McCoy made Colin Baker look like Jon Pertwee in comparison. Always loved Dr Who since I saw my first episode in the late 60's but the Sylvester McCoy era is the nadir of the show. I started it in '81 at six with Tom Baker's "Robot" and became an addict. My granmother knitted me a long scarf to wear everywhere even. My favorite Doc will always be Jon Pertwee, with Tom coming in a close second!

  13. Rats I like a bunch of stuff from the BBC, but can not understand how those of you in the UK tolerate such short seasons, and shows getting made when they get made rather than having a defined schedule. We don't get a lot of choice At least we get 12 episodes of Dr Who every year  I went back to Matt Smith era, loving the Ponds and the Weeping Angels. This is the best stuff since the early Peter Davidsons. Lovin' it.
  14. Yes it's worse than those two. It's not so much bad, it's just utterly boring. Nothing happens. The other two you can make fun of the ridiculous nick cage or Megan fox. Ff there's nothing compelling or repulsive to have an emotion about, at least not whilst you're watching. There's just ... Nothing I'm not sure about it being worse than Transformers: Age of Extinction. That movie was a bigger pile of dog doo-doo than the FF reboot. No comic movie is worse than Crow: Wicked Prayer though. Even RT gave it 0%.
  15. Despite some cliches, I liked the beginning when Reed and Ben were kids. They should have stayed with that, bringing in Sue and Johnny somehow. It's not Stand By Me or It level kid acting in a genre film, but it would have been a welcome direction instead of the one they went in. There are worse movies out there, The Getaway (Selena Gomez), Get a Job (Miles Teller.) I bought the DVD for $5. I didn't feel too ripped off as sometimes watching these average to mediocre movies amplifies ones like The Lone Ranger or Superman vs. Batman. My
  16. I started to see her career go winky starting with Mr. Right (not awful). I mean there was that Christmas movie too. New agent after the success of Pitch Perfect? I mean she starred in a recent Miles Teller movie that was worse than Fantastic Four.
  17. I gotta say, at 2:03:42, the train sequence in "The Lone Ranger" is the best sequence ever for a masked man in film.
  18. I need you not to give up hope. You need to hope. When things are bad you have to hope. Hope. Hope. Show a little hope the season will end. Hope.
  19. Maybe, but remember Poltergeist's Dominque Dunne who died tragically after the film's release at the hands of her jealous boyfriend. They just wrote her out of the movie as being "away." They could do the same with him being reassigned in Starfleet (history being re-written after all, thanks Nero) and bring in an all-new character. I thought about this a lot after Leonard Nimoy passed and what would happen to the Old Spock character.
  20. Are we sure our UK brothers and sisters got to the end of Season 1? Maybe wrap it in spoiler tags or reword it, she fights the sniffles and saved a basket of kittens.
  21. It is, after all... Looks more to me like she's covering up...her roots. Maybe she's really a brunette? Supergirl is NOT a brunette! You take that back, sir No one could do headband linework like Ale Gazra. Avril Lavigne meets Olivia Newton John.* I said "newton." hee hee
  22. I like them both i do too, but like smulders a tad more, i think. Like Tatiana Maslany and Anna Kendrick, Rosamund Pike has her own section in my DVD/Blu Ray library. #teamrosamund
