  1. Almost picked up Gadot's new release "Criminal" tonight, but went with "Working Girl" (Melanie was a healthy size in that one) instead. #cherry20004ever
  2. With all the Alien V talk, I thought this was a nifty little trivia fact... In the film Alien Resurrection (1997) the character Annalee Call, when revealed as being a robot, is noted by another character to be "an Auton, a robot designed by other robots." Auton's first appeared in Jon Pertwee's first serial as the Doctor, Spearhead from Space in 1970 and they returned in 2005's Series 1's first episode "Rose."
  3. Wait, so we're supposed to ignore the fact that #3 was never made, and that no one cares about moving forward with the prequel started with Prometheus (not that it was stellar, but cmon). This is a 100% train wreck. You see this a lot with horror movies. Remember Halloween's H2O retconned #3-6 into non-existence (actually #4 erased #3 before that.) I watched Texas Chainsaw last night. It politely asked you to forget about #2-4 as well as the reboots, while it acted as a direct sequel to the original. Lets not forget New Nightmare. That was terrible Great opening, but got bogged down in boring cliches, instead of breaking down the 4th wall like Craven did in Scream. Take away the supernatural and gore, this could play on Lifetime as your typical mom and child in jeopardy tv movie.
  4. It wasn't just that to me, there was less of an urgency to the plot and more of desperate isolation theme in the tone, like Carpenter's Thing. Everyone there was absolutely doomed. What ruined some of that was the MTV jump cuts of the creature's POV.
  5. This thread needs a list. #1. Aliens-four stars #2. Alien-four stars #3. Aliens Director Cut-great, but feels like padding in places #4. Alien Director's Cut-not much new #5. Prometheus-long awaited thank you for the fans #6. Alien3 Workprint- the right tone #7. Alien Resurrection-better without the padding #8. Alien vs. Predator Unrated-better than PG-13 #9. Alien3-stylish, but unwatchable now #10 Alien Resurrection Special Edition-needless additions #11 Alien vs. Predator: Requiem-zero stars
  6. Bring in Cassie Sandsmark's "Wondergirl" for a Melrose Place type catfight and watch the ratings explode as well as WW #105's.

  8. If you are talking the most $$$ desired, I would say... The Comixpress edition The original Sketchbook and the #1 regular edition If you are talking about quality... The first three issues and Winter's #1. My
  9. Let it go on...? Hopefully the quality will justify a Registry Set since a second book can be graded now. I think it will be good.
  10. Mouse Guard #1 and Sketchbook's popularity is how I discovered this place about 10 years ago. The eBay listing said "CGC It," so I googled CGC and found this place.
  11. Interesting I thought the reverse when I saw The First Avenger. Unless you're Indiana Jones, a period popcorn movie might yield middling results. #thephantom #agentcarter #talesofthegoldenmonkey #talesofthegoldwhatnow? I was going to go with #highroadtochina, but I wanted to throw you. It was an Indiana Jones knock-off TV show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Gold_Monkey Starring Stephen Collins as Jake Cutter. Collins had starred as Captain Will Decker in Star Trek: The Motion Picture before. I think the most recent thing I would have watched him in was Revolution. I know the chap. Didn't know he had such illustrious acting career... High road to china...? What If... Tom Selleck finally had a shot at an Indiana Jones type character in '83, after he missed his chance in '81. A poorly produced film, that was more of a homage to Bogart than Indy. Selleck would have another shot in Magnum p.i.'s eight season with the episode "Raiders of the Lost Art" with his 3 Men & a baby co-star Margaret Colin.
  12. I suspect his origin will happen sometime soon in the DCEU timeline. If he was already in existence, how would DC explain a human GL not protecting Earth during the Kryptonian invasion in Man of Steel? He only fights clouds? But, he might have been somewhere else in the galaxy. I'd like to hear that excuse... What could possibly be more important than saving Earth? The centre of the universe. The place from which all the greatest Superheroes emerge. Even if they weren't born there. There has been some pathetic excuses in funnybook movie continuties lately. Thor going to war in The Dark World instead of returning to Jane, even for a moment. I still can't believe with all the chemistry and sparks Thor and Jane had in the original Thor, he didn't seek her out immediately upon returning to Earth in Marvel's The Avengers. #troubleinparadise?

  15. I agree. I love Brie. But after Room, this is a bad career move going foward. I could see Brie doing this after Jump Street or Trainwreck. But, she was a force to be reckoned with in Room and could get meatier roles now, instead of jumping in on a franchise. #teamwinnick

  17. Watched the trailer of this one for the first time before Batman v Superman last night. It looks frantic enough, but too muck like Assault on Arkham. I'll wait for Blu Ray.
  18. Just bought Season One on Blu at Best Buy ($30). Can't wait to catch up better now.
  19. Yeah, I was surprised we got something in the middle, usually it's at the end.
  20. Just watched TToA for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Loved it and the Bob stuff were great.
  21. 1. Pertwee 2. T. Baker 3. Davison 4. C. Baker 5. Hartnell 6. Troughton 7. McGann: I too haven't seen his movie, but he cannot be any worse than McCoy. 8. McCoy
