  1. The most watched CGC 9.8 comic I ever sold on eBay was a Newsstand Edition of ASM #36 (WTC issue) eight years ago with 84 watchers. I was puzzled and if I remember right, it didn't sell too good either.
  2. That was only an advertisement for TMNT 1. If ads are considered 1st appearances, then a book like DeadWorld 10 would be Crows 1st app.? See how silly that sounds. Not silly if you bought a raw for $10 and it graded CGC 9.6. I forgot the boadie's name who hesistated on that eBay deal? CGC will not grade this book only PGX would. I think he's talking about DeadWorld 10. Ah then who cares in that case!!
  3. +1 The advertisement on the back of Gobbledygook #1 says TMNT #1 is "NOW ON SALE!". If TMNT #1 was a future book, why would the ad say it was on sale now? I do agree, both examples are only advertisements and they should only be important to a TMNT or Crow collector as part of the title's history, not a 1st appearance. NewEnglandGothic funfact #12,615: TMNT #1 was printed in Dover, NH!

  5. I thought she was utterly brilliant in American Hustle. She was the wild card that kept everyone on their toes. Without her, the movie would have felt a bit too formula. Golden Globe and Oscar voters agreed with you. I like Rebecca Romijn for the same reason most of the rest of you do--as pretty as JLaw is, Rebecca Romijn has a prettier face and a better body. She fills the nude Mystique costume better than JLaw is capable of. JLaw matches Mystique from the comics better, however, in that she can deliver lines better than Romijn is capable of. I was watching The Rogue Edition for the first time today and noticed what I like the best about JLaw in the role. It's her eyes. Even in those yellow contacts, her glance lingers on you (not a stare) after she decides on something and you think she's just gonna change her mind and kill everybody in the vincinity. It's a very playful glance (almost with a smile), fully aware of what she is capable of when your guard is down. Romijn (a sexpot in her own right) didn't have that, so her character always felt as predictable as that lady Terminator in T3. Plus I agree, her lines were too quick with no pay-off ("Because we shouldn't have to",) unless a generous co-star did the emotional heavy lifting to react to her.
  6. And Peter Dinklage as The Thing and Lena Dunham as Sue Storm. Who cares who plays The Torch, he's on fire. Mahk Wahlbuhg would make an awesome edition to that cast! "Hey, say hi to your mother for me and flame on!"
  7. Anybody read the new "Adventures of Supergirl" #1 Wednesday? Based on the ultra-chipper Benoist adventures. Should serve as a bridge between seasons also and our boardie friend Batman should love it as well.

  9. What's your issue with Jennifer Lawrence? Far and away the most over-rated actress in the last 20 years. Terrible physical presence for Mystique Mystique is ultra athletic, with hyper reflexes, and moves with a fluid gracefulness Jennifer is wide hipped, horsey, and moves with a plodding clumsiness (in her scenes when it's really her, and not the stunt double) Rebecca Romijn was ten times better, and the perfect physical presence for the part. Heck, anybody else would be better. Jennifer IS NOT superhero material Let her stick to girl next door type roles Sorry, I don't think Rebecca Romijn could carry the heavy load of acting when Mystique has to make the choice of killing Trask at the end of "Days of Future Past." It takes more than a glare to convey conflict. She was literally being ripped apart from Charles interfering and her own destiny of actually killing Trask. Romijn would never pull it off and wind up looking like a mannequin. JLaw made us believe anything might happen in that moment. What's on page and conveyed believably onscreen is two different things.
  10. Exemplified by stating they" made a bad movie", followed by "we love that cast". Each of the leads probably owes the studio two more movies due to a contract. If they have to pay them even if they're no longer cast in it (see Robert Wuhl in 'Batman'.)
  11. You what I noticed with this one. You can't find a used copy of a Blu or DVD anywhere of this one. People are either keeping them or they never bought it to begin with.
  12. They could bring back Elpidia Carrillo in a cameo as well. Technically, she was a survivor as well. I think I remember Black and her sharing some scenes.
  13. Seriously, we're thirty years into Dolph's acting resume now. Was Universal Soldier his best performance?
  14. She's had too many great roles since Winter's Bone to just be called an adequate actress. Take Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy for instance. She even dominated nothing roles in House at the End of the Street, The Beaver and Serena. Even after Room, you can't say that for Brie Larson in 22 Jump Street. If anything these franchise paycheck roles are dimming her star as she shows more range than some of these productions actually deserve.
  15. Nina Dobrev showing up as a very special guest villian.
  16. Well, it won't get just get one star I figure. It does have Jennifer Lawrence in it, so with the "Jennifer Lawrence" rule, I'll award it another star. So, it's halfway there to four stars and I havent even seen it yet, other than it's ho-hum preview.
  17. my thoughts exactly but sounds much better in the King's English Same. If the audience doesn't draw the line we are going to get Batman & Robins, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeances, or bland Ant Man movies for the next ten years. Bland Ant-Man movie come on the movie has 4 1/2 star rating out of a possible 5 star rating....how much more do you think you will get out of that missing half star!! Seriously?

  19. OMG, that is so true! Although I haven't opened my Game of Thrones Blu Rays to watch yet. I hated Mockingjay and didn't care for each movie myself. I loved Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects and Dark Places, as well as Gone Girl and the movie. Thought the Dark Places movie was average. Probably would hated it if I hadn't read the book.
  20. Uh-oh. Bad analogy. I liked Jurassic World a lot better than Age of Ultron and Ant Man last year. Heck, I liked The Lost World better than Batman & Robin and Spawn in '97 even.
  21. Probably the Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, etc., book fanatics have something similar on their message boards around the innertubes. Probably considering those YA movies Insurgent and MR: The Scorch Trials were absolutely unwatchable. Those opuses must have hurt their genre.
  22. Nothing to do with the new movie coming out, but did anybody ever watch the animated Dr. Strange movie? I saw it was for sale for $4 at Best Buy and was curious. I haven't been a fan of a lot of animated Marvel efforts other than Big Hero 6 and Hulk Vs.
