  1. Kate Bosworth (miscast) Parker Posey (sleepwalking) Kevin Spacey (paycheck) Bryan Singer (paycheck)...
  2. To be fair, both Superman III and Man of Steel had the lead actor from the very cool The Man From UNCLE, yet Superman III had Richard Pryor. WIN! Pryor was hilarious in that! Plus it has the fight between good Superman and Bad Superman, no robo-suit needed here...just a garbage compactor. Not to mention the young and gorgeous Annette O'Toole as Lana Lang after the sad and long Margot Kidder years.

  4. yeah but what's going to matter is the audience over the critics. That's what should make this all very interesting by Sunday afternoon next week.
  5. OK, here's some RT perspective on the franchise over the years... Superman: The Movie 93% (53 reviews) Superman II 89% Superman II: The Donner Cut 90% Superman III 26% Superman IV: The Quest for Peace 12% Superman Returns 76% Man of Steel 56% and now Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 37% (so far). I thought I would make up this list before anyone makes any rash judgements (please notice the % for Superman Returns).
  6. Are you saying those were two Transformers movies were "critic-proof" to international audiences? Because they were pretty bad (and I liked the original).
  7. Peter Travers has always been my favorite film critic, since he worked at People.
  8. You have to also realize a lot of critics are going to be resentful towards this big studio film that was made instead of some art house film about a little boy chasing a balloon all over Paris. A big studio made Avengers : Age of Ultron. which Rotten Tomatoes gave a 75 percent. Batman v Superman now at 39 percent at Rotten Tomatoes! I loved Man of Steel. I hope Batman v Superman is in that style which is why the critics are giving it so so reviews. I did not know that. I just assumed AoU would have gotten a so-so rating from RT, after all it was just more of the same (slo-mo Avenger freeze-frames, Loki's glo-stick of destiny brainwashing scientists, Hulk on a rampage, thousands of easily disposable henchmen, etc).

  10. After this show being on an incredible roll with great episode after great episode, I thought tonight's episode -- while good -- was a bit of a missed opportunity.
  11. ...and it had Cate Blanchett, as a villain.
  12. You don't have to. Once you quote it, at least my computer won't allow them on the initial quote other than as a gobbledegook of numbers and letters (that can be instantly downloaded).

Three more minutes... There's nothing New about your England, NEG... it's just like my old England 1st world countries with 2nd world internet connections. Top Tip: Turn off all sig lines to greatly improve your browsing experience Way ahead of you. Ironically, my sig line is Frozen, but if I don't turn off sig lines my computer gets frozen. I have to block folks who constantly embed and show multiple images at once. It truly is nothing against them, when they share stuff (if any take it the wrong way), but if I freeze up and have to reset, I then have to reload all my programs all over again. Right now, no complaints. I don't think my connection is quite as slow as yours, however I do go and make a cup of tea every time I click on certain threads... "Block" you say Yes, quite. I always fix up a cup as well, and settle in if its really something good. But, most of the time its some youtube clip, I'm not gonna be able to view anyway. So, blocking the folks who repeatedly share such stuff improves speed considerably. Most of the time, they're quoted afterward (sans the embedded image), so you're not really missing anything anyway.

  16. Same philosphy on watching this stuff, ...and I am on dial up. I actually have a "sewing room" (us New Englanders with our salt boxes and capes ), that is one giant DVD/Blu Ray library. When I get sick of them (lots of comic book movies are getting cut as quality has improved since 2005), I just give them away to confused people who rather fish in these streams for movies? But, wouldn't mind a physical copy.
  17. I'm guessing the theme of the episode was Kara growing "confidence" in herself. But, thanks to all the discussion on here this morning, I'm back on board to finish the season. This really is a great show with a big heart.
  18. Here are some answers to your good questions: Personally, I think the last 12 minutes are the best 12 minutes we have seen in this show's existence. I was blown away. And even better stuff coming: The Flash. And then the Showcase Showdown with Non and the Ft. Rozz Kryptonians. I think it's going to be a battle royale with Kara enlisting Red Tornado and Bizarro Supergirl (who are hibernating somewhere). Thank you. That all makes a lot of sense. Oh man, I missed Bizarro Supergirl. I remember seeing images online of of Red Tornado. But, I have to admit, it was a very entertaining episode. It was full of fun little bits of stuff, for a decent jumping on point.
  19. My only gripe was with the way the show ended in the last twelve minutes... Still a very engaging show. Moves a lot better than Smallville ever did.
  20. Wow! Watching my first episode since the pilot. I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about (I don't know how some of of you find the time to watch all of these comic shows ). Benoist is really great playing her inner bad-girl. Reeve would have been impressed. I'm actually curious how this is all gonna wrap up. What is this, episode #15?
  21. Really? The Deathly Hollows? Whomever wrote this couldn't think of anything better to call them? I seriously need to catch up on my Harry Potter movies. I stopped at the third installment, "Prisoner of ...?"
  22. I'm surprised no one has discussed this one yet? EW just released pics of it in their newest issue. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/03/04/miss-peregrine-tim-burton-photos Forget Beetlejuice 2, I figure this will be the return of director Tim Burton. I bought the young adult book last year at a yard sale. It felt like a turn of the century X-Men for kids. From Wikipedia (end spoilers left out): After his grandfather's murder, apparently by a make-believe creature, 16-year-old Jacob Portman goes to Wales to learn more about his grandfather's life. He finds that his grandfather lived in a derelict orphanage for "peculiar children". That is where he meets Emma, a "strikingly pretty" girl who can control fire. She uses time travel to take him back to 1940 to meet Miss Peregrine, the orphanage director, who lives with the other children in a "time loop". Jacob enjoys spending time with the other peculiar children, such as Millard, who is invisible, and Bronwyn, who has incredible strength. In the pub where Jacob is staying, he hears stories of mysterious deaths in the region, and he warns the peculiar children. They tell Jacob that the deaths were caused by the "hollows" or "hollowgasts", the same monsters that killed his grandfather. Jacob later learns that he too is a peculiar, and realizes only he can see the monsters and stop the killings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Peregrine%27s_Home_for_Peculiar_Children ...and two more books released since, not including a graphic novel in '13. It definitely was an original comic-book premise, that has been flying below the radar of a lot folks. I can't wait for you guys to discover it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Peregrine%27s_Home_for_Peculiar_Children_(film)
