  1. I just finished it. It really wasn't that bad. Besides Kate Mara's wig malfunction distractions, it was a watchable enough movie. Might watch it again down the road even. Two stars.
  2. Nothing new though. Same scenes recycled from the previous trailers. Great game. Edelman was only a slightly rusty from what I could tell. Was really surprised at how well he played considering how long he's been on the side line. Was worried about Gronk too, but he played fine as well. On to Denver (sorry Steeler fans, don't think your team stands a chance tomorrow). You caught me. I think I only watched one of the first teasers so far and I'm not up to date on everything that has come out. It was my first time seeing what Deadpool looks like tonight as well. Yeah, after the week Jones & Gronk had, I figured the season would have been over before 8pm tonight. But, they played very strong. I figure the Steelers will be sunk tomorrow as well, but it will be definitely an interesting game with Manning starting.
  3. Neat 30 sec. teaser of Superman ripping off Batman's mask during the Pats/Chiefs game this afternoon. #gopats
  4. Yeah, worst movie I saw last year. I can understand this. The movie is now critically acclaimed (which personally means nothing to me) but will still not work for everyone. I think it's one of the top five movies of 2015 and one of the best action movies of the last decade. Box office and critics mean nothing to me though. Star Wars TFA, Jurassic World and Avengers don't even make my top five for this year. It's one of my favorites as well, but I tend to gravitate towards stronger feminist movies (Let The Right One In, Winter's Bone, Frozen, etc) after growing up in the rock 'em sock 'em testosterone-laden 80's. To see a revisionist take on an 80's franchise like Mad Max and have a female lead dominate it with the reliable main male character was the right kind of direction to make this old toy seem like new. No disrespect to Tina Turner's Auntie from the third one, but her character seemed to jettisoned by the third act. This movie might also be visually spectacular, but you "feel" it as well. Charlize deserves another nom for her risky role (appearance and motivations) that will trailblaze for women in action films for years to come. She needs some kind of acknowledgement. ...and what comeback for George Miller to turn his old drive-in type movies into an operatic masterpiece of the human condition while existing in a purgatory. A best director prize seems totally possible for the "Babe" director.
  5. Maybe she had too many films she was doing on her plate during filming (The Martian, Captive, etc). Doesn't seem like her.
  6. Let me see if I've got this right... Supergirl is both her own aunt and foster-mother!?! That's the dangers of time travel, people Now you KNOW those Kryptonians are a wacky group! Didn't Clark/Superman marry Supergirl in "Many Happy Returns"? She might not have been officially his cousin in that run, buttttt kinda anyway.
  7. I finally watched it tonight. I liked it, even though I own it, I don't really see the need to watch it again for a while. It just feels like one of those movies that might lose a little bit of it's magic everytime you watch it (Captain America: The First Avenger, X-Men: Days Future Past). The final fight between Yellowjacket and himself on the train track was cute, but I'm afraid the next time I watch it, the scene will lose it's novelty.
  8. Thanks for the honest review. My favorite movie critic (Peter Travers) killed it, giving it zero stars, so I was a bit more worried when the buzz on here panned it also.
  9. Target has these cranked down really low compared to other stores and they are still not selling (same with Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials). The only new ones moving this week seem to be Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Ted 2 (might pick up Ted 2 Saturday). The toxic buzz over this movie was bad (mostly the reviews), I passed on it and picked up MI:5 and My Girl instead. Might grab the DVD in a Walmart $3.74 bin to fill out my comic movie section someday (I'll go $5 for The Scorch Trials).
  10. I think it's a million miles better than Smallville, which I did enjoy, and the special effects are better than any similar show on TV. As for it being 'childish' - well, no more than any other super hero based piece of fiction. I quite liked Smallville when it first started, although I had to mentally prepare myself for an "alternate history of Clark Kent" before watching each episode There were too many Kryptonite mutants in the first series. It did pick up but I lost interest after season 3 for some reason and never went back. I returned for Season 7 (aka Supergirl). Liked it pretty much from there to end of Season 10.
  11. Are you ok? Those reactions can be quite nasty. At least you'll get some catch up time I once had a week off work and was so bored, I watched back to back Star Trek Voyager I'm OK. I caught it quicker than I did last time. I could feel my throat closing up and see the spots appear. Last time, I took a different antibiotic before bed and didn't get to the hospital for 12 hours. Five days off, I looked like Hellboy and almost couldn't breath before I got there. Like Kryptonite, I'm allergic to everything from latex to penicillin. Can't wait to get back on track with these shows, little things keep too distracted lately. That's not good Have they found an antibiotic you can take...? Did you know there's a link between latex and certain fruits like banana? Latex-fruit syndrome. It's Kryptonite, so it's not That was officially the last antibiotic I could take. I forgot it's name (but I have it on file), but I remember the last one that put through a loop (azithromycin). One 250 mg tablet almost ended my journey. Yup, bananas are a no-no to eat since I was kid. I had a bite of one at work and I had a sore throat soon after. I have always been obsessed with the banana flavor of Laffy-Taffy. It truly is Krptonite, for the son-of-Jerel's kids someday if they get my genes.
  12. Yeah. I was pretty shocked to see the JJ spoilers being brought up literally the minute after the show finished airing. We really need to put these things in spoiler tags. It just isn't fair. I was so disappointed when I saw these spoilers. Yep... I saw that and Episodes are broadcast on a Thursday over here Even in the US people on the East Coast are gonna see it 3 hours before we on the West Coast do. The better this series gets, the longer those 3 hours must seem And the week between shows feels eternal! Reminds me of Lois & Clark Season 2 Season 2 & 3 were great shows. Season 1 was alright from time to time. Season 4 too sentimental and predictable. Hatcher remains the Best Lois Lane (Seasons 1-3) ever for the past 22 years.

  14. The better this series gets, the longer those 3 hours must seem I'm off work tomorrow to yet another severe allergy to an antibiotic. I look pretty bad and I am really sick. Yes! I have 4-5 episodes to catch up on. It reminds me when I fell behind watching "Dollhouse" (Season 1) and caught up with it watching it dominate storywise (on it's way to a second season cancellation though ).
  15. Gonna catch up with it in a couple days. But, it can't be worse than Season 3 of Wonder Woman or Season 1 of Superboy. Nothing can't be that bad (Acapulco HEAT Season 1 and High Tide Season 2 withstanding).
  16. Gonna catch up with episodes #2-5 as soon as I finish Season #2 of "Inside Amy Schumer".
  17. Haven't watched the show yet, but... Evil Dead was the most unsettling of the four movies, there wasn't as much chuckles, but an ominous tone that somewhat energized supernatural horror films at the time. Evil Dead 2 is basically a remake of part 1 on giggle gas. Luckily, it becomes a wild ride as Bruce Campbell goes Jim Carrey with a lot of set pieces. Ash needed a villian to square off with though, as he went full hero mode. Feels like a nightmare gone beserk. Army of Darkness is a watchable mess of cliches that certainly has moments and one-liners but collapses on it's seven-year-old self before the first 15 minutes. It feels like a ride you want to get back on, but cannot remember why. Too many flat jokes as well. The Evil Dead remake is a return to form (as in the original) with a most welcome feminist twist (see Mad Max: Fury Road). It literally rains blood. Out of four stars... Evil Dead*** Evil Dead 2*** Army of Darkness** The Evil Dead*** Enjoy!
  18. You know, I kept thinking I still was going to hate it, but it was a pretty solid movie. Granted, there was no surprises with the "plot twists", but it had this energy about it that made it very enjoyable through out. Armie Hammer was hilarious, Alicia Vikander was adorable (I want one) and the climax didn't end with some stupid noisy 2nd unit set-piece that you would immediately forget. Guy Ritchie is back. I'm betting this is a funner movie than San Andreas and Terminator: Genysis. Three out of Four stars!
  19. Me at age 10. I used to go out in public dressed like this. I used to have a silver tire-pressure gauge as my trusty sonic screwdriver. One of my cherished toys of my youth. My grandmother knitted me this scarf after she watched The Sontariun Experiment.
  20. Didn't realize it had been released. Since I liked the trailer on the Fury Road Blu, I bought it on a 'blind buy'. What the heck I figure. If I don't like it I'll just give it to someone. It couldn't be as toxic as The Avengers.
  21. Why not download the copy off the internets...that way you're not hating on yourself for wasting money on it. Typically, I wouldn't publicly advocate downloading like this but this movie kinda had it coming! I buy a lot of movies, but I see no need in owning this one for behind-the-scenes stuff on this one. You're not gonna get an honest commentary from anybody involved in this movie either for a decade or two anyway. One of my favorite bad-funnybook commentaries of these was Joel Schumacher's one for Batman & Robin. "I did it for the money... Toymakers had control of the -script... Rushed into production after Batman Forever turned into a hit... Money... George was a great Batman... $$$ Almost a billion in merhandising... Mo' money... Not the best movie... Money!!!" You wouldn't get that kind of retrospective on new ones like Terminator or ASM 2
