  1. Whoever bought this copy must be desperate or a noob at collecting. The wrap is atrocious.
  2. I won't speak for all CVA books, but the Tec 411 in particular sold for big $ because of the rarity of 9.6's and it was a Fantucchio book.
  3. 251 is one book I still don't have. Getting a white paged, perfectly centered copy in 9.2/9.4 is no easy feat.
  4. I don't pay attention to CVA stickers. They shot themselves in the foot when they first came out. Many of the books that had the sticker were miswrapped. I don't know if they've tightened up on giving stickers, but it isn't that hard to see if a book is registered well and presents nicely. I really believe the sky high price is due to so few examples come to market. Tec 411 is super tough at 9.2 or better.
  5. Not many sales in the past few years. The ones I've seen, I've passed on because of centering issues. The price has been pretty stagnant for the past few years. $1,350 to $1,500 should be the price range and if the centering is spot on and pq is excellent, you'll pay a premium to that range. The Fantucchio 9.2 W went for $2,001.00, which I thought was nuts, but it sure was a nice looking copy.
  6. And what seller in their right mind would have a reserve set above $2,800? Double
  7. If you want a key, TOD 10. If you want one of the best covers of the Bronze Age, Bats 227.
  8. Fantucchio books continue to command crazy high prices. Tec 411: $7,100? http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3DDetective%2B411%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1232821&id=1232821&itemType=0
  9. The book is red hot. The 9.8 on Comiclink sold for 45K yesterday. That's 21K more than the last gpa sale from 2015.
  10. Agreed. Those that buy for the quick score will often break even or lose. Those that hold long term will do just fine.
  11. The prices vary. I paid $10 for a book I recently purchased. Some notes cost $5, other's $10. I've never paid more than $10 though.
  12. For the record, I've seen much more severe marvel chipping than this. It really is a beautiful copy.
  13. Ended today. Wow! https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/horror/house-of-secrets-92-dc-1971-cgc-nm-92-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7177-93350.s?ic2=mytracked-lotspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyTrackedLots-101116
  14. Buy the highest grade PCH key you can get for 3K. Black Cat 50, Chamber of Chills 19, Crimesuspenstories 22, etc. Yes, they have moved up fast, but have plenty of room to grow.
  15. Astute move. Some will have you think it doesn't matter. Savvy buyers will always hold out for the best presenting copies (including PQ). When it comes time to sell, you'll be rewarded.
  16. Nice ninja edit. I giggled a bit with your initial response. Now I see your edit and all I can do is shake my head at you. Anything to win an argument, which you never will in this particular case and absolutely horrid people skills. Kudos to you, sir. Don't worry, this is my last interaction with you.
  17. Have not met, but I've seen you argue ad nauseum on many things. BTW, you're completely wrong on this topic. And no, I won't argue with you anymore, Chief.
