  1. That is a beautiful copy. Centering is great. Is there something going on inside or on the back cover?
  2. This book seems to be legging up further. A bunch of new sales in just about every grade range. Crazy prices being realized.
  3. I'm not going to be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner this year. I'm stained forever.
  4. $4,500 is 9.4 price. Did you ask the dealer what his real price was?
  5. If he wants cash quickly, the best route is through a respected dealer, but the overall return will be less. If he doesn't mind waiting for years, consigning the books with a well respected dealer might be the best route. Some books will sit for years and may never sell. Keys are pretty easy to sell.
  6. I'd reholder that book if I were the owner. Beautiful copy.
  7. I'm glad that you're getting a refund and that Metro is doing what any reputable dealer should be doing.
  8. One year and the crowd goes nuts. Bam Bam Muellins and Kevin Maas. We shall see.
  9. You're really something else.
  10. I wonder how much those 2 AF15's were going for when the picture was taken?
  11. Those collectors are not wrong, they simply don't like looking at a signature on the cover of their books. Sig books are a niche market, yes, some people that like sig books will pay a premium, but the majority of the collectors I know want a clean book without sigs on it and wouldn't even consider buying one. I don't mind a sig on the splash page. Different strokes for different folks.
  12. Where did you buy this book at? I don't think the damage is due to SCS, but as others have noted, it probably occurred when the book was encapsulated. It's really a shame too, because that is a great looking book.
  13. I'd let that copy of IH 181 go. Miswrap and OW pages? No brainer. Your Supes presents great. For me, personally, I'd wait for a sweet wrapped white pager of 181.
  14. 181 isn't going to sustain the huge gains in value forever. It may never go down, but at some point it will flatten out. I'd wait and get the perfect copy for you.
  15. Scans of both books? Crop out the Hulk 181 serial number so no one will poach it.
  16. I did my daily perusal of books on dealers websites. Dale Roberts 9.0 ow/w copy is pending. He had it listed for a dollar under 3K. Not sure if he got full price, but it wouldn't surprise me. En fuego!
  17. Agreed. I would only slab 8.0's or higher. Midgrade and lower grade copies sell just fine raw.
  18. I wouldn't slab it unless you plan on selling it. Put it in a mylar and display it proudly.
  19. A date stamp might keep a percentage of buyers away. If they aren't too obtrusive, they don't keep me from buying. It's funny, I'll buy a book with a date stamp, but will never buy a sig on the cover of a book.
  20. There are some that love sig books. I'm not one of them.
