It's cool to see Purves get some love. My recollection from my middle school days was that all of my friends were McFarlane freaks, so when he left Hulk, and Purves came on, he was the WORST ARTIST IN THE WORLD. Their opinion, not mine. I thought his stuff looked pretty cool, and honestly, in hindsight, a lot more solid (though admittedly less flashy) than Todd's.
It’s a great run in the series. Purves art was my first Hulk comic. And I hope that book does get hotter for selfish reasons.

Harder being relative, which is basically the same as saying, I don't know
More sought after, not sure of either
Personally think UPC symbols are ugly, but, I say this with the market being the market
If you look at recent sales of graded direct vs newsstands you’ll see the difference. All it proves is that there are people willing to shell out a lot more money for certain comics with a UPC on them.

This run of books is massively underrated. Peter David was on the top of his game back then and I absolutely loved the Purves art. I have an awesome OA page from 351 hanging on my wall that I've had for a couple decades...I love the piece.
Agree. I have four purves OA pages myself.

Marvel would change the logo and a bunch of people who haven't bought a new comic off the stands in 15 years will tell everyone they're never buying a new comic off the stands again.
Well I’m not buying any of this new punisher stuff. He’s not a samurai. I’m also not a fan of all this pandering.

If certain groups started using the spider man logo wonder what they’d do.

So 163 business days and counting for my arrived June 1st, rec 8/3 submission, still in GEI
Who else still has submissions not back yet under the "really old" pricing?
My April submissions are still there. Stuck in G/E/I and grading/quality control.

Thank you for your opinion appreciate that.
Now do you think there is anything that can be done to maybe increase it's grade a bit? I dont see how pressing would help its a raw book and pretty damn flat... But Im just guessing Im a noob.
The spine tick seems like something you'd have to live with i guess?
Yea once they break color you can’t do anything. And I think I can see about 8 or so of them on the spine. You could still get it cleaned and pressed prior to grading. I’m thinking the grade could land anywhere between 8.0-9.0
-
Color breaking spine ticks and a blunted top corner but that’s an easy 8.0 IMO
-
I’ve seen a fair share and own a few miswrapped 9.8s
that’s a great copy, lots of other spine issues to consider before the miswrap, but I think any copy of that issue is worth slabbing regardless of the grade.
