  1. Actively on the lookout for this one. Cover for MICRONAUTS 12 by Golden. The pic of the OA is from somewhere on the Internet.
  2. WTB - Cover for MICRONAUTS #12 Actively on the lookout for this one. The pic of the OA is from somewhere on the Internet.
  3. Follow Claudio's link: http://www.comicartfans.com/comic-art-highlights.asp?PM=1&PI=54
  4. ...and I was trying to be pedantic by obliquely pointing out there are 6 gems on The Gauntlet.
  5. Why Does No One Tell Me These Things? Didn't know (until tonight) that one could access a list of all 'CAF Daily Featured Highlights' merely by clicking on the little corner banner on any highlighted gallery page. I point out the link in case there are others who are ignorant of this site feature, they sure do tuck these little surprises away discreetly, don't they? Just spent some time strolling through the Best of the Best on CAF. Wow. Good times, good times.
  6. This one has been being worked on for a loooong time. I rarely consider drawing something myself for inclusion in my collection, but made an exception since the idea was very mechanical and fussy. Inks by original Micronauts inker Joe Rubinstein for a professional finish. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1392895
  7. Everything about MICRONAUTS 11 (1979) is a grail for me. After all this time, the art for the entire book is still assembled. In addition to the cover below, the interiors can be seen here: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=58556 The only way it could be more perfect is if the original color guides survived. Anybody know?
  8. A greater volume of complaints from Ebay bidders might help get Ebay's attention. (That said, I haven't complained myself, so please don't feel I'm criticizing)
  9. For some, that's a response they can't stand to hear.
  10. Generally speaking, yes. So long as one leaves Wriggle Room. I've been in intermittent contact with a CAF'er for years now over a NFS piece he -fairly- recently purchased in the $100-$200 range. Our last conversation ended with him floating the idea of selling somewhere in the $1,500 range, "but even then, I might still say 'no'" I thought that communication was generally fair, giving me a target price which might be considered, but still not committing to a sale. I did not feel slighted by the extreme increase in expectations (as the piece has been framed), but the result was a respectful quieting of communication, which was probably the intent anyway. I also felt the communication was possibly instructive as a possible way forward should I ever be in his shoes. He was upfront about his warning of Not Committing to Anything, which I maintain is fair.
  11. Even if you were to come up with a number when asked, it doesn't mean you're committing to sell anything.
  12. I guess I'm a little more relaxed on this question. To me a published cover is a published cover is a published cover. Plus, any dealer selling original art for a variant cover will probably still decline to give you a discount 'just because it's a variant. '. Published is published.
  13. DeviantArt is turning into a Godsend for me, a great way to quickly contact an artist, if they have a gallery there.
  14. I'm probably over 90% nostalgia-driven.
  15. I wonder if it would attract a few new faces (dealers and customers) who can't travel all the way east...
  16. Assuming it hasn't been destroyed, there are three scenarios: 1) Buried so deep in a pile the owner doesn't even remember he has it (my guess) 2) Owner isn't aware I'm looking for it 3) Owner IS aware I'm looking for it, and (generally speaking) doesn't care.
  17. There are always pieces that I'm on the hunt for - I'm not shy about that - but the primary one which 'got away' for me was the Corner Box Art by Michael Golden for the MICRONAUTS. An Ebay seller had just posted the original Cockrum corner box, featuring Baron Karza. The seller let me know that he had the Golden one as well, fishing for an offer. Funds were a little limited at the time, so I prioritized the 'Original' Corner. I did offer (and bid) the same for the Golden as what I'd paid for the Cockrum Corner, but turned out to be the underbidder. I now wish I'd had a little more gumption - what difference would a couple hundred dollars make - but it is what it is. The attached is NOT a pic of the piece, but a Photoshop mockup. At least I kept good records at the time. Since it was pre-Ebay-info-lockdown, I noted the winner's Ebay handle, and give him a 'tap on the shoulder' now and again.
