Pretty sure today is the last day to vote on the polls back on page 367 regarding the registry sets. If you want your opinion to count on what we relay back to Gemma please vote. We want this to be what the majority wants here

I would love to own a book like this ok so target date stamp May 17, 1971 Flexibility would be let's try to at least be Month and Year beyond that any book would be good! Also the time machine was pretty cool and I never would have thought to check out the books actually out during the month versus the published date. I've been looking for the wrong books

Anyone had any magazine graded lately? Are they running pretty much on time?

I think that will have to be a vote as well. I wasn't even aware that CGC would slab fanzines because of their ability to be easily duplicated, or maybe I'm not thinking of the right thing? On second thought, if they slab it I say it's in.

I think once we get this COVERS registry fixed we should petition for an all inclusive Dave Stevens art registry set and send Gemma the books listed on the official website. One thing at a time though.

I set both up to end on 5/31 so hopefully whatever we decide we can have Gemma make the change to the Registry before this year's deadline for additions can be made. Other questions you guys want to address?

Ok let's see if I can make one of these polls work. If I can get the first one to go through I'll do a couple of more for the other areas.

If we take a poll on the IDW books would the result be good enough for everybody and whatever the result is what we do to the registry?

I think you may have something here. Any book we want can be put in the registry. So I'm sure we can leave out the reprints. Someone would just need to do the research and let Gemma know what books to put back in. I think that might be asking a bit much from Gemma to cater to us like that. If she instead just has to give a minimum amount of points to any issuance from IDW of a Dave Stevens cover wouldn't that work?

3/18/13 modern (no fasttrack) moved to graded this morning.

I was one of the ones who made a passing comment that they should be dumped. I shared this via PM with fasterfriends...I don't have much appreciation for the postumous, re-colored, re-worked DS "tribute" covers. To me, it's like IDW reprinting a Famous Funnies #210 cover on a new book and calling it a Frank Frazetta cover...then adding it to the Frank Frazetta Covers set...that doesn't work for me. The IDW books are great, but if it were my choice I'd include both front and BACK cover books and leave the registry to originals only. I can see where you are coming from and we definitely agree on the back covers. :thumbsup: Anybody else want to chime in?

Gemma did remove them at the request of a couple of people in the registry updates. That's why I wanted to talk it over here before we went back to her and give her an answer that we've discussed.

Ok guys we are giving Gemma a fit with the registry set. Maybe we need to do a poll on this or something, but let's discuss it here and see what we come up with. For the existing COVER registry set I agree that anything that is not either a front or BACK cover needs to be taken out which includes the Who's Who books I just bought a couple of weeks ago However, I do think the IDW books have their place. Since they are covers that are Dave Stevens artwork they are tributes to him and the only way the set will ever continue to grow. I agree with them not getting a lot of points because they are not as significant in my eyes to Dave's work. With that said you would be hard pressed to take too many spots away using them against older books. As for the older books I think we should come up with something that makes a little more sense for the points but if you guys want to tackle one thing at a time lets take a bite out of the other stuff first.... thoughts?

Works for me I guess. Keeps my once a month submission of about 20 books going. Just send the May batch today.

Thanks for helping out :thumbsup: These I can always rebuild ( and will). Stuff like that she can't replace a lot of it like the pearls her grandmother gave her or her grandmother's wedding band.
