MikeThibodeaux's cover(s) are often mistaken for Dave's work? I agree. But I can also understand why someone may assume this... over this... is a Dave Stevens cover. Other than it saying "Dave Stevens" on the second cover, I would have never known. I wouldn't have known without the sig either but that being said, with the benefit of knowing to look for it, I can see Dave's softer touch on the inks. I'm not sure I can even say that. Kirby had such a thick line at times it seems that Dave would have to have a strong line to cover them. I'll be honest. The first time I had one of these in hand I stared at it for a while and just couldn't see it.

I guess the hard part would be devising what to actually put in the set for the complete list. We could use what the official website has listed but there are many foreign editions in there that are likely to be near impossible.

As for the "complete" registry vs the "cover" registry, can we have both or do we need to decide on one?

Kind of goes along the same lines with the Vikings books. Dave only worked on one cover but for some reason the multiple variants are listed in the registry?

Don't worry, I'm motivated to get this done sooner rather then later. I have a whole short box of Steven's covers I need to sort through and submit on a prescreen. Just never seems to be enough time in the day. I have two in 9.8 just need the third. Can't remember which one it is I need though. Makes looking for it in the raw a little difficult. and by the way, when did Dark Horse 100 come off the registry set? Guess I'll be content with the 9.6 copy I just got back....

All of it sounds like growing pains to me. There should be a west coast version of CGC and at least one northern version. Two more sites with the same size staff ought to do it!

I send somewhere between 15 and 25 books on the 15th of each month modern, no fast track. So far my books from February are scheduled for grading, my books for March haven't even been verified and my books from April haven't gotten in the system yet.
