  1. Yeah, but yours isn't "in the marketplace" now is it? Long time collection books like that no one is saying have been tampered. I made the comment because the subby 3 was sold through heritage (see ad nauseum threads) and thus out of a long term collection and possibly into 'manipulative' hands. Beautiful book, btw
  2. You know what the funny part is? I posted the comment about the Subby 3 being 'probably' cleaned and pressed as a flippant comment with ZERO knowledge about that particular book only because it seems like every freaking book around is being worked on these days. Ironic (if not surprising) that it was in fact upgraded from 9.0 to a 9.6. The chicagos may not have had work on them when they first came to market but don't kid yourself - nothing is immune. If there is money to be made on a book that's in the market, someone will manipulate. That's just the way the game is being played these days - look around - there are ample threads to prove it. Have fun and remember to send Filter that grand
  3. Point is... there are no guarantees. Doesn't matter what pedigree. If there is money to be made, someone will manipulate the book. and Tec 27, much as I like the Marvel.
  4. Now its my turn to not be sure if filter is kidding or not, but one thing is for sure - a pedigree designation hardly guarantees it is untouched.
  5. subby 3. Lots of Everett art in that issue and unrestored to boot. EDIT - m, not sure after seeing the restoration on the tec35 is only a clean and press. The subby 3 is probably cleaned and pressed too At the same dollar level I'd take the subby almost every time.. but in this case the purple level might have depressed the price too much. I guess I'd take the tec 35 in this case too, but I love the subby.
  6. I'd take the AF15 because robin sucks arse... (on his lucky days). If it were pretty much any other low # tec allentown w/ a batman cover it would be a different story.
  7. I also think this is the hardest one ever. Adventure 40 by a hair.
  8. I like it... I'm sure it was unintentional but it almost looks like dual perspectives
  9. if it isn't a crease then you might get a pretty good grade out of it
  10. I would take the sup 2 - it just looks so damn fresh. And definitely the more fun.
  11. As beautiful as that book is, I would seriously doubt a 9.2... cgc really seems to slam corner dings like that.
  12. I love the cauliflower ear on the thug at right... nice cover. "Innocent" look on the boy's face is captured nicely also.
  13. say centaurman... isn't about time you ditched the dc avatar in the name of consistency?
  14. One the one hand absolutely.. on the other hand.. it was another time and place, with different attitudes towards the mile highs and towards restoration generally.
  15. Hmm... I haven't seen the metro copy but I might lean that way. I don't like the discoloration on the rhs of the mile high 9.6
  16. Submariner 3, as much as I'd love a church detective. Remember that submariner 3 has 40 pgs of everett art.
  17. I thought it a pretty tough choice until I saw that the cap 1 is also a mile high. If it was a no-pedigree cap 1, the choice would be tougher IMO. There's a few other nice caps out there but I can't imagine there are many choice Aman5's at all.
