  1. I haven't received one in a long while so I don't think so.
  2. Kinda what I'm thinking. These two books seem to get ignored loudly! Unfortunately how it is ala showcase 23/24 saw a slight bump, but I would think (I didn't look at any numbers) but JLA 1 would outperform just like I think GL1 outperformed 23/24.
  3. Don't believe this is anywhere near correct unless you are assuming that all sellers, including your average and Jane, which nobody has ever heard of must then have the same brand recognition and market reach as Heritage. Even Schmell himself went through HA when it came time to auction off his multi-million dollar Marvel SA personal collection, even though he has his own industry recognized auction site. So, there must be a reason why consignors are willing to pay the 800-lb gorilla. I don't watch the auctions as close as many but I don't think that HA on average gets 16.5% higher (10% seller + 19.5% buyer - Clink/CC 10-13%) prices than other venues do they?
  4. Totally off topic of the current journal...but come see us at NFCC in June! Gabe I think you need to start asking yourself some questions before you do things related to comics: Think to yourself, since I know you and Vince have spoken. Would Vince do what I am about to do? Or Rick? Or any of the other guys here on the boards do. If the answer is a resounding NO then its probably a bad idea (sending a package to a random guy on the internet). If the answer is I'm not sure, maybe you should post it here: Hey guys got a trade offer for some of my books, guy sent me a list of people he has dealt with and I have checked with those 7 people and they all vouch for him what do you guys think? Trading is a very dangerous game on the internet and there is only 1 reason to trade in your situation (to win aka more money or an easier book Hulk 181 worth 1k > an old western worth 1k). Keep in mind the shipping costs, insurance risk etc for the trade so you really need it weighted in your favour...it likely won't happen unless your being marked.
  5. Here's a story for you. It didn't happen on the Boards but at the local convention a few years ago, first really huge show, I was working for a seller with a lot of $2 bins, fresh stuff, clean books, and people were really buying. One guy comes up to me with his two kids, young ones, obviously new to comics and cons, and asks me if we had copies of such and such books, I think it was the Indiana Jones movie adaptations, we did, in the $2 Bins, in great condition, if that mattered. He wanted to get them and share them with his kids, who looked excited, and I was excited to be able to make it happen, for the huge sum of $2 a book. He takes a look at them, and asks me if he can have them for $1 each. I didn't really know what to say, except, "well, its not my stuff, so I'll have to ask". The seller said no, and I think justifiably in the circumstances. It was the first day of a monster show with lots of people making huge piles out of these bins. The seller was not going to suddenly announce to one customer that books could be had for $1 each. So the customer hands them back to me and says he'll have to pass, and leaves with his two very sad and confused looking kids, so he could save like $3. And I had the same feeling afterwards, "maybe I should have just paid for the difference for the kids...". Someone said to me "no you shouldn't have, you can't save the guy from being a jerk". Had a guy dig out a big stack from our dollar books...he said i'll take these. I count them out...that will be $13...he is like oh I thought they were a $1...yes and you have 13...oh no I thought it was just $1
  6. Aren't they technically considered the same tier? Prescreens take longer from the RECEIPT DATE. Not to be confused with the date you sent them in. Moderns normally are 3-4 weeks faster than Pre-Screen Moderns. So yes technically they are the same but signature series are likely treated slightly different than moderns (just like pre-screens are) so just curious if there is much of a change in pace from a PS to a SS. Jeff Bother were RECEIVED by CGC and put into their system on Dec10th. I did 3 submissions at NYCC. Two were SS and one normal. I got three packages back three days in a row from CGC, SS, normal, then SS. So there seems to be no difference. So then I shall expect my ss back a few weeks before! Thanks
  7. Already tracking (not to buy but watch) strong out of the gate buddy! Best of luck!

  9. Buy it (not sure if you need or have this one) *not my book* I just bought one this month, but I want to see if I got a good deal. I 'think' I did okay on the price but another sale would go a long way. Jerome Ok hedge your bet and buy a second copy
  10. Buy it (not sure if you need or have this one) *not my book*

  12. I don't normally do SS books but anyone have experience with time compared to Modern Pre-screens? Which one should I expect back first?

  14. You forget page quality and cover paper quality. Yes, white paged copies do sell for more so that's definitely a key consideration. ...except when they don't. -J. Which is rarely. The highest priced sale of a 6.0 recorded in GPA had white pages. It fetched 19% more than any other copy has sold for at that grade, and is the only white paged copy to have sold at that grade level in the past 3 years. The second highest recorded sale for a 6.0 had ow/w page quality. The three highest sales ever recorded for a 5.0 all had ow/w page quality. In the past 3 years, no white paged sales are recorded at that grade. The two highest recorded sales for a 3.0 were for ow/w paged copies, both sold last year. There were no recorded sales for a white pager in this grade. Conversely, the two lowest selling copies last year in this grade had c/ow pages. There have been too few sales of this book in conditions above 6.0 over the past two years to refute the importance of white pages to selling price. Are there recent examples of white paged copies underperforming compared with a ow or c/ow example, or are you just blowing hot air again? Don't bother trying on the PQ with him. Everyone has tried but because there is a sale at some point or another where a CR/OW out sells a OW/W it doesn't matter. I mean its not like someone can find sales of a book with tape outselling one without, or a book with MC outselling one without or a book with writing on the cover/date stamp outselling one without. Its a useless and pointless argument with Jay
  15. Keep in mind that if Lance got clipped how upset her mom might be now that she's in love with him, so that also would seem to support it could be either of them (by Felicity's reaction). Very true!!!
  16. I've put it on Lance as well but last seen leads us to think its her mom as well.
  17. CCS sent out an email yesterday say their pressing times were getting better. Moderns only 5-7 weeks instead of 10-12
