  1. I don't think those 2 points have to be mutually exclusive. I agree it was no where near his grade of a 5
  2. Thanks for pm'ing me the grades/prices on those AF15's Rick. I'll be in touch.
  3. When the books "ship" you can see the grades online...How long that takes depends on the tier type unfortunately, walkthrough is normally that same day....however prescreen econ is weeks.
  4. Has a lot going for it that's for sure. Not to mention it's a boardie's copy.
  5. crazy time of year to run an auction. I checked yesterday and only 10% of Silver-Age books were listed as Auction which is crazy since a lot of the auctions have a starting price at FMV. It is well known on the Lyria forums that October to January is the best time to buy comics and the worst time to sell them. Right after tax returns is when the market sees a nice uptick on sells and picks up pace until July/August when it peaks. Year after year. July and August?? Where is this info? Lyria is his website that has all the information. Based on who he is I wouldn't argue with him He likes to argue its who he is.
  6. Who's to say this book wasn't cracked out, pressed fixed and increased just a small fraction of the book. Maybe CGC had it graded at 8.0/7.5/7.5 and finished on 7.5...after the work THEY had it at 8.0/8.0/7.5 and finished on 8.0? Whats the point of looking at other previously graded 7.5's...
  7. Incomplete copy went for $3600 tonight.
  8. Agreed. In an industry where Wolverine can be seen in full view and yell his own name at the Hulk in Hulk #180... it's still Hulk #181 that's the big one. We get nothing remotely close to that in MOS #17. The Web of Spider-man #18 (or #24) example for Venom is a perfect comparison. Actually it makes perfect sense. Comics tell stories and Wolverine is not a part of the story in hulk 180. If a person wants to know how wolverine's story first began they need to read hulk 181. If that same person only wants to see a meaningless picture of Wolverine in the last panel at the end of another story openly enticing the reader to buy the next issue so they can actually see his first adventure then they can save a ton of money and settle for a hulk 180. -J. Variant covers...yup they tell stories all right.
  9. Because you only live once and posting on here s unlikely to be on many bucket lists. Go outside. Outside the general discussion thread? Outside the Sales area? Like...over to the Watercooler? He could get wet
  10. Dot com stocks I def wouldn't be using Twitter to state my argument.
  11. Its currently number 2 boys...its getting there
  12. Can we discuss what is a CATCH in football I think we might get somewhere.
  13. right, good question...... I guess if your promoting things you shouldn't be on the boards you will. Try your luck posting your PGX slabs for sale or bootleg dvd's and see how many times you can start a thread before they give you a strike.
  14. More or less posted his new website that was more or less mystery box selling for the holidays. 1. I didn't open the webpage but the first few comments were if I buy the level 6 package of ASM am I going to get what I pay for or more ($1500). or 2. Are you going to list the contents of each level? to which the reply was along the lines of: 1. I will be adding an FAQ that will outline this 2. No each box will be designed based on what you order for a character. Im shocked Guess the FB thing isn't working out as well as expected? Tough thing about screwing buyers they don't come back a second time. It did not...he had similar issues there as he did here...buyers complaining admin stepping in.

  16. also bad ending time...between 5-6pm est
  17. The bidder on that book was BRILLIANT. Blocked another bid by throwing out an internet bid $5 over the next increase. So when someone bid him up, the prior was 5 dollars and thus the bidder would have had to go at least the cut to top him. I saw that and started to laugh. Thats the way to snipe
  18. I didn't want to be the one that posted that one wonder where the 3.5 will end up today on HA. The 4.5 and 5.5 on CC/CL moved up the line quickly, be very interesting to see where they finish as well. Very hard pressed to say this book isn't #2 behind AF15 In low to mid grades it seems such. I'd like to see what a higher grade copy would bring. The competition for the low to mid grade definitely seems to be driving the prices. Curious as to how much the market would thin at a higher grade though. -J. I agree, I would love to see like a 7.0 go head to head however odds of that or similar are slim...only 27 vs 90 for SC4 in 7.0 or higher

  20. The more rules there are the more rules there are to break, whine about, hump buttons on etc. If a seller thinks they will maximize their return by simply posting a single scan with no grade, no description the power to them. If a buyer isn't comfortable buying a book based on a single scan with no grade, no description they have a couple of options pm and ask or move on.
  21. So it went from "soon after 6" to October 2015, to May 2015, to Jan 2015 Shall we get a pool started?
  22. I missed all the fun! I would love to see all the shenanigans wish they were saved on the boards and just had to say I agree the stuff was scrubbed
