  1. It is awesome that Jim recognized you this way. Congrats! Well deserved and thanks for sharing!
  2. Agreed. How cana they be allowed to prey on new collectors and/or those who don't read about their deceptive practices? It seems apparent that there is no legal recourse (or it would be cost/hassle prohibitive) to curb their activities but I would think more could be done within the bounds of the hobby to prevent other collectors from being ripped off. Hats off to Chris and anyone else who aided in getting the collector their money back - you have my respect!
  3. Where do you go after an intro like that??!?!?!! Pulling up a chair and getting some popcorn!
  4. Update! I have had zero contacts from anyone with Hulk 372 information. You can be the first!
  5. This. And then I later found out that a piece I would have bid much higher than it closed at .... and I was disappointed that I didn't wade through the muck to look for hidden gems.
  6. BP on those look to be at 24% and 25% - ouch

  11. I am searching for any pages from Hulk 372 - please feel free to contact me if you have any page(s) from this issue. Thanks! Dave
  12. That was below the belt, if this were SF I would ban you
  13. I am looking to add 2 or 3 pages from the Planet Hulk story line, preferably those with the Hulk on the page. Please let me know if you have any that you would consider selling. I can be reached via DM here or via my CAF gallery below. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=14768 Thanks! Dave W
  14. I believe this is the case, significantly
  15. I think it can be difficult to remain objective on this topic when pursuing a page(s) award completing an issue. It seems that a lot of people become indignant if collectors don't roll over and offer up the page and sometimes appear like they are entitled to the page(s). I have never been contacted in this scenario but I have a feeling I would be reluctant to sell as I don't ever sell or trade away pages that I acquire. I would be open to the idea if the buyer were willing to work with me to find a suitable replacement for the art that he was looking to acquire. I like the idea of telling the collector to come back when mine is the last page they need - fantastic idea.
  16. You forgot the most important piece of information - what Hulk page were you going for and did you win that as well?
  17. My appreciation of comics is art first and then story - I can't read a great story if the art is bad but I can easily do the reverse.
  18. You saved the best for last. Well written observations - you are well ahead of the learning curve for many that spend a lot of time in this hobby. Welcome!
  19. Welcome to the hobby Andahaion, enjoy the slippery slope!
  20. Wow, an even earlier reference to spaghetti webbing - we need a date on this
  21. Based on the pics, it is clear that Ditko was the first to draw the webbing with the spiral webs outside of the straight ones. In my eyes, the term spaghetti webbing was born with McFarlane as he drew copious amounts of webbing that resembled, well, a bowl of spaghetti. It’s minutiae for sure, but fun minutiae to chat about
