  1. Well there it is ... Golden's spaghetti webbing inspired McFarlane and likely Adams. Great find!
  2. Really? It’s interesting but it feels a stretch to say that it is directly derived from Arthur Adams work to me. Has me curious – I wonder if anyone has ever asked Todd. Great observation.
  3. I don't follow Carnage art at all so I could be wrong, but that seems low for a nice looking cover
  4. Extremely nice artwork! Good luck with your sales!
  5. Yeah, any art that I was in a time payments situation should not be listed as “for sale” IMO. It makes people think the art is available and you get the feeling that the dealer might be willing to bump you if a better deal came along. As long as the buyer is meeting the terms set forth by the dealer the art should be listed as “on hold” IMHO. I bought a piece this way and the showed as on hold the entire time I was making payments.
  6. By Thanos collector, is it safe to assume you would include people that collect cosmic art? If so, there are quite a few. Or do you mean something else?
  7. I agree. For me, I guess I can admit that others may have a different opinion of art than I do. It doesn't mean that I necessarily agree with them but I can easily concede on difference of opinions. It make me cringe when I hear people say they don't like Sal Buscema or that his art is "just house style and not very good", etc. but it doesn't impact the way I see the art. Different strokes. This will always be a subjective topic and we all will always see some things differently - it's not like we are ever going to see CGC slabbing art by levels of universally accepted quality. I do see the point of this thread and it is a great topic ... it probably is especially great for all the Liefeld collectors out there
  8. You make a fair point and I completely understand ... and the Iron man case is a good example. However, for me as a Hulk collector, it just is not the Hulk and places the art in a different category completely. Not to say that I am not interested, just to a (often very) lesser degree. It was the same when they were calling the Red Hulk the Hulk - not the Hulk in my eyes. The same with the current Amadeus Cho that Marvel wants to call the Hulk, etc.
  9. Thanks for that tip. I wasn't too sure about the painter's tape but figured it was good enough to bring it home form the con. I will definitely look into the hinge tape.
  10. Was able to add another EDEX piece from their Hulk run to my collection. Really happy to pick this up! I can't seem to get enough of their art from this run. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1403141
  11. Picked up another piece for my Bob Larkin Hulk poster homage gallery. Erik Larsen did a great job IMHO. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1402840 ]
  12. agreed, I would tap on the back. I just bought a DPS and the artist taped it together on the back with blue painter's tape
  13. That was the point I was trying to (more subtly) make. The cover doesn't have the Hulk (I don't consider Rick Jones to be the Hulk).
  14. If this went for ~$24K, I would see the 330 cover hammering at significantly less.
  15. Good point ... I have several Mike Deodato pages that were published from pencils and they are gorgeous.
  16. Totally agree. The art gets a serious bump for being McFarlane but clearly not yet in his signature style. Another plus for being a Hulk cover but a minus for not having Hulk on the cover. I would be curious to see how far it would get bid up if auctioned off.
  17. Don't see this being worth anything near 65K any time soon, if at all
  18. No, for all the reasons already mentioned, this isn’t going to sell any time soon
