  1. I sold my very minty direct copy back in 1994 for the princely sum of $25. Luckily I still have my newsstand copy I've had since then as well that I paid nothing for. It's an 8.5 or so, though would press up nicely if I was so inclined. I can't imagine paying any of these prices we've been seeing.
  2. Yeah, I have a good sized raw submission of a bunch of keys/interesting stuff to them I gotta get moving on. Been saying that since last year ;)
  3. Too soon to make acetate cover jokes?
  4. It was a pretty bad and useless show, I gotta admit.
  5. So I finished my vacation last week, and had some time to kill. Watched the first two episoides against my better judgement...and I gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed both episodes. I dare say it's the best MCU TV show so far.
  6. Looks interesting actually. There's a lower grade one on eBay right now as well. I'll keep my eyes peeled locally for one!
  7. Is it this one? https://www.amazon.ca/Heavy-Metal-Presents-Alien-Illustrated/dp/0930368428
  8. I read the book since it came out. I still have my 3 copies of number 1, along with the whole run I bought as they hit the stands...I also had counciled many clients at my comic shop back then to pick up copies and read the series. I watched the first two episodes and wasn't blown away. It was good, not bad, though I felt it was somewhat plastic. I fell asleep during the 3rd episode (was a ROUGH weekend ;) ), and will rewatch and continue for sure. The comments I skimmed through here while avoiding spoilers make me sure I'll enjoy the overall show. Let's see what happens!
  9. Don't know if you're following the Prey thread in the movies forum, though the main bad guy that's not the Predator is my cousin! We were at a theatrical premiere last night and it was REALLY good!
  10. So I'm off to a small town in Ontario this weekend that has a comic shop with a big bin section. Last time I was there I scoped out a number of CPVs though didn't have time to properly sit and sift. I've booked an hour's time tomorrow morning to go through those bins and clean out all the CPVs I can find depending on what price I can negotiate before I start rummaging, as his back issue pricing is pretty high overall. If I can prenegotiate 40-50% off the bin fodder, I'll leave with a stack. And I'll report back here what I find!
  11. Well I know what I'm doing the beginning of next week.
  12. I was going to ask whether the streaming versions has subtitles for the French speaking parts. Everything they were actually saying was real and made sense, and the best part is that even though you didn't understand directly it was very easy to know what was going on. Very well done! After the movie, went to see Mike and I told him
  13. Yes indeed! And the best part is that we're (bilingual) English Quebecers...we were cracking up at his French ;) He's an amazing guy, and you should check out his standup as well! Just Google Mike Paterson...he's done A LOT of stuff!
  14. Okay so yeah, this was a really good movie! And not just because my cousin was in it. I didn't know what to expect as most movies (including the vast majority of the MCU movies) have been very underwhelming the last few years. After having heard the premise, I was worried (and was completely expecting) a lot of cringe moments seeing as the protagonist is a girl, they are native and it takes place 300 years ago. Instead we got a solid movie that didn't take the time, or even need to go there and made solid character do a lot of cool stuff! Seemed like the audience was treated as smart individuals...and that's rare these days! The first half was slower, though still kept interest, and set up a lot. Thesecond half was a total blast. Definitely worth watching! Curious what you guys will think! Oh, my cousin plays the main bad guy that's not the Predator btw!
  15. Rarity is only beneficial if people are actually looking for them ;) I'm working on the thread!
  16. They were indeed, printed and sold, only here in Quebec. Funny part is that when we were kids back in the day, we HATED finding these French books ;) I'll get on that thread!
  17. I'm not certain, though the Éditions Héritage comics always had a slightly higher price that the English counterparts. Normally the books came out around the same time as the English ones as well except for the obvious ones that reprinted known older books (I have a lot of them, including GS X-Men 1, Daredevil 1, etc. that were put our in the late bronze/copper eras). Below is the GSX 1. I don't remember a decent thjread here about these Quebec editions...maybe I'll start one and post some up and get a discussion started there (and off my CPV thread ;) ).
  18. I never did finally. If what they did to that movie like what they did to all iterations of The Stand, I already know what you mean.
  19. I actually forgot Terminator...was thinking 90s! Yes RM better than commando though...
  20. Understood. Although I will say Predator and The Running Man are neck and neck for Best Arnie movies though.
  21. It's up there, though not sure it's top 10. Stuff like They Live, Heathers and Evil Dead keep it further down the list. And I havent heard/rtead about the Hitler allegory!
  22. I'm pretty happy to be seeing this on the big screen tonight! I'll post thoughts thoingt afterwards as soon as I can!
