  1. I had some comics from 1980, though the first book I bought after seeing it on the newsstand was Wolverine MS 1. Don't know why, didn't really know who he was...saw it and had to buy it, and I remember the moment like it was yeaterday even though it was literally 40 years ago. I bought the rest of the series off the newsstand as well (and I still have the copies...fun the 2,3,4 are of course CPVs ;) ). That's the book that really ignited my lifelong love for comic books.
  2. Watched this movie last night. Gotta say, it really wasn't very good. It didn't push any storylines forward, acting overall wasn't great and a lot of questionable choices wwre made (as already discussed on this thread). I really was a HUGE fane of the first wave of MCU movies, and was genuinely excited for each release. All of the latest wave of movies, while being moneymakers, have been really not good (except Spider-Man...there were issues with that one to though). Here's hoping the new Thor will buck the trend...
  3. I've had it since I bought it of the stands. Probably an 8.5-9.0, and it hasn't been pressed (yet?).
  4. Yeah, 9.8s for sure. What about solid 9.2 or 9.4s though?
  5. Are higher grade common books really worth picking up? I travel around many parts of Canada and always hit the bins of whatever shops are close by and I've always been able to find some mixed in with the runs. I still never bother to grab them. Maybe I should? And I'm still trying to figure what my higher grade Blip 1 CPV would fetch should I decide to sell.
  6. It was! I got rid of half of them when my son was going to be born, and have kept the number of books I have pretty steady since ;)
  7. 20 years ago when I had around 16000 boots, I used these shelves from Ikea two deep. They are relatively shallow, though two of them one in front of the other looked okay and was more that strong enough to hold twice the number of boxes you have. Shelf heights are adjustable as well so pretty versatile for how you'd want them stacked. https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/hejne-shelf-unit-softwood-s39031411/
  8. Precisely what I'm expecting. I'll do it as an experiment though nonetheless. While drinking.
  9. Well, I'm going to give this movie a shot. I put it that way as I'm the Bizarro superhero movie fan. I HATE the Nolan Batman movies (literally nothing I like about them, not even Heath as the Joker). As bad as both Suicide Squad movies were (hate them both), I enjoyed Leto's Joker more than any other portrayal. I enjoyed Aquaman and Shazam the most of all the DC movies except for.............B vs S. I actually love that movie, and Afflek is by far the best Batman portrayal so far. So I'm going to watch this new Batman movie...and am prepared to hate it too ;)
  10. I started watching this not long after all the episodes had aired, and I really couldn't get into it (sadly). Maybe I'll give it all another shot!
  11. R.C and G.R. are basically one and the same anyway ;)
  12. Initiales are G.R. And I bet he has a million comics.
  13. I guess GI Joe 60 is going to be getting some attention again as well. Fun TM book!
  14. ACTUALLY...Canadian is a misleading description even. This is a Quebecois edition, printed and sold in Quebec. There had been Canadian editions of books going back to the 40s of course.
  15. This run of books is massively underrated. Peter David was on the top of his game back then and I absolutely loved the Purves art. I have an awesome OA page from 351 hanging on my wall that I've had for a couple decades...I love the piece.
  16. It ain't going anywhere...yet ;) And apparently none on the census...
  17. The Groo 1 I have kicking around is a Canadian price variant copy...guess I'll have to keep an eye out on demand for this thing finally.
