  1. Or you could just wait the six months, and get them for the price of a regular cover. Hey zosocane, what part of Miami you from? I grew up in and around Cutler Ridge and Coral Gables.
  2. @Crimebuster - Will you actually buy one? I think they're going for $14.99 or so. The Midtown Comics Nei Ruffino Virgin cover is going for $100.00. In six months it will probably be hard to get regular cover price for any of them, but people will chase them. Supposedly they've sold out of the entire 1st print run of 35,000. So there should only be 350 1:100 covers. That one may hold some value, but this Phantom one does nothing for me, and is completely out of character with the Red Sonja I know. @HouseofComics.Com and medijunkie - I'm friends with Lucio on Facebook, and he posted this the other day. It is awesome, and I wish it were mine. Too bad he won't be doing any more covers for Red Sonja. Not sure if Dynamite will continue Queen Sonja, but some of the covers he's done for both series have been amazing.
  3. The Phantom Variants are made for a select group of comic shops. They have to be part of the network to get the covers so not all shops get them. Kind of like Midtown Comics has their own (ahem) Nei Ruffino cover. It just seems that with this Phantom cover the whole thing is turning into a joke, but I'm not laughing.
  4. Just found this. Red Sonja #1 Phantom Variant. I think it's the 9th or 10th variant for this issue. Is this what the "She Devil With A Sword" has been reduced to? Thoughts?
  5. Nice! Yeah, Avengers annual #10 Rogue absorbs Ms. Marvel's powers, but she's saved by Spider-Woman. Carol Danvers next appears in X-Men #150 powerless. Got a nice copy last week, and posted a pic of it in this thread on page #177.
  6. I'm not a DC collector, but that All-Star #58 is effing sweet.
  7. Red Sonja Commission by Lucio Parrillo from SDCC 2013.
  8. Yes, and Avengers Annual #10 to finish. Tough to find raw copies in decent shape. I don't mind paying, but finding actual NM or better raw copies ain't easy. I grabbed Ms. Marvel #9 and #15 off the boards here that were quite nice though.
  9. Your #13 is one of the few 9.8's that is nicely centered. That's a great book right there.
  10. This just came in the mail today. About an 8.0 maybe 7.5.
  11. CGC doesn't deduct for miswraps. So you might have a shot if you have any that are. Here's a Red Sonja #13 with a really bad miswrap, but still gets a 9.8. The label makes them tempting, but you really have to look at the book to see if it's worth it. Compare this one to Gyro's #13, and ask yourself which one you'd rather have?
  12. Those are pretty nice. Like the Red Sonja #13, many of these suffered from "bad wrap syndrome" where you get that white line down the spine from the back cover showing up on the front. Bad bindery work caused it. Yours didn't suffer that fate which is nice to see. There are only five 9.8's out there, but like most bronze comics, no shortage of raw copies. I was looking on eBay, and copies in VF+ to NM are readily available for as little as $5.00. So their not worth that much unless you can get a 9.8, and that's the trick. If it comes back 9.6 you're cursed with a book that might not be worth the cost of grading, but if you can get a 9.8, and sell it in the right setting, the price jumps like crazy. If that last 9.8 on Heritage was what I'm looking for, (a real 9.8 ) I would have gone to $300.00 on it. Just for the Red Sonja image on the cover. Because it's really the first cover image of her where you can clearly see the chain mail bikini. Savage Sword #1 and Conan #43 she's mostly obscured from view. On Conan #24 she's in the BWS outfit. So on #44 Marvel put it out there once and for all. #78 is a great cover too.
  13. Will watch We'll see if my theory about bronze age 9.6's holds true. Unless it's a Hulk #181 or ASM #121, #122, or #129, or anything along those lines, that they don't command very high prices like the 9.8's do. That last 9.8 Conan #44 went for almost $300.00, and I doubt this 9.6 coming up can reach half of that. Which, theoretically, should be it's value. The difference in condition should be noticeable, but compared to the 9.8 that just sold, I don't think this 9.6 book is any worse than the 9.8 with that weird upper left corner it had. If the 9.6 does hit $150.00 then you might ask if the 9.8 is really worth $150.00 more. The answer of course would be that there are only five of them, and if you want a 9.8, you're going to have to fork over the scratch to get one. Especially since the last one to go up for sale was about a year and a half ago. I was interested in it, but that corner and page quality kept me away. I didn't want to get into a bidding war over a book I wouldn't have been happy with, but who knows when another 9.8 will surface?
  14. Check this out, Randy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Sonja-1977-1st-Marvel-Series-35-Cent-Variant-4-FN-65-/360682202311
  15. There's a 9.6 coming up on the 7th. Any predictions?
  16. OMG 5 minutes to go it is 300$ Canadian with 45 shipping !!! $345!!! Update it sold for 300$ Did you win wizard? No, I never even put a bid in. If it was white pages I would have been all over it. With the page quality, and that weird corner I stayed away. Fun to watch though.
  17. Yep, it's gettin' ugly. Actually not too bad. Really thought it would break $300.00 in bids. That nasty BP almost got it there though.
  18. Some nice books you guys are posting. All I managed to come up with this week is a pretty decent copy of X-Men #150. I think it's the first time Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel) appears in the title.
  19. It's a tough copy to find in high grade. I have a reader copy that's really ragged out. Coupon missing, and the cover looks like it's been through the ringer. I think the last 9.8 to sell was in Feb. 2012. May be a while before another comes around. Have to think about this one.
  20. I have a feeling bidding could get ugly by the time this is over. Conan #44 9.8 OW/WP. 1 of 5 on the census, and 5th appearance of Red Sonja (Or 6th if you count Gyro's #33). Has anyone looked at the enlarged scan? What is going on with the upper left corner? http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=121326&lotNo=13094&type=bidnotice-tracked-dailystatus#Photo
  21. Yes! Nice looking copy. Very hard to find in decent shape. I've seen some modern reprints for sale, but it's just not the same as owning an original. I've read, "The Shadow Of The Vulture" online, and it's an amazing story. R.E Howard has the ability to really put the reader in the middle of the action. Howard's, "sending a head in a box to your enemy" predates the movie Se7en by 61 years. Classic!
  22. I've only told you about it, and posted links to it about a billion times.
