  1. And lo, the fish 'n chip accompaniment wars began.
  2. My local chippy does 3 different strengths of homemade curry sauce. Yummers
  3. Wow, just noticed the Thief of Thieves thread is almost on page 4 of this forum. It was all anyone was talking about a couple of months ago.
  4. Anybody else see this? http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/07/19/northants-international-comics-expo-preview/
  5. Just finished, Life by Keith Richards, bloody brilliant! 'Keef' is the man! Half way through Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. Post 9/11 allegorical novel. Funny and touching in parts but incredibly self indulgent in others. OCD will make me finish it, but disappointing overall.
  6. Normally check this thread daily but been away for a week. Just looked at the last week's worth in one hit. WOW! From moderns to key silver and bronze. Ga Fiction House, Brit reprints, SS, sketches, etc, etc. Just incredible stuff guys, very nice.
  7. I haven't seen either, because weirdly, I generally don't like comic book movies. I know, . I'll probably watch 'em on Sky when they roll around. I don't get involved in the discussions about them on here as I'm ambivalent about the whole thing
  8. You never give me your money - the battle for the soul of The Beatles by Peter Doggett. Basically the story of the break up of The Beatles and the legal and financial wranglings that dragged on for years. It's very readable, but quite dark and bleak stuff all the same.
  9. Welcome old bean Re pressing: I always find it slightly funny that everyone (the Americans) go on (and on and on and on ) about pressing so much.,.. as a child I distinctly recall using piles of heavy old books and annuals to "press" spined-curled copies of 2000AD before i swapped them with other children for the latest Whizzer & Chips.... they came out good as new - what's the difference!!! Speaking of which, I have a very early memory of comic restoration too - black felt tips and yellow sello-tape... CGC would NOT be able to spot it
  10. I will deffo be at the Sept mart, and will probably set up, either by myself or helping my LCS.
  11. Go on, you know you want to
  12. Great work Bane, you can already see the improvement on your previous stuff, even though that was already excellent.
  13. Bane, that 121 is too low a grade for you. Send it to me so that you can re-focus on getting a 9.2 or something. No need to thank me, glad to help you out
  14. A legend Absolutely. Rip Eric, his autobiography is next on my reading list. Had the pleasure of meeting him once in the mid eighties, lovely man.
  15. Awesome! I've still got my Joker carrier bag from there that I've had since 1982.
  16. Great book. This book is in my top 10. Unfortunately I am afraid that it will not be the same to read it translated in English. Also there are a lot of "inside jokes" that only somebody which has lived in Eastern Europe could understand Anyway great book and congratulations for the choise! Although I read it in English and still thought it was a great book?
  17. Behind Enemy Lines. The autobiography of Britain's most decorated living war hero by Sir Tommy Macpherson.
