  1. I may add that I am looking to sell huge chunks of my collection, as well. I want to try and finance the purchase of one, or 2, major books and stream line my collecting focus to just a few books rather than 1000's. Just trying to figure out how best to go about it. I just don't have the time to individually sell on e-bay or scan every book etc Wouldn't the monthly London show be worth doing for this? As it's mostly the same sellers each month, wouldn't they be all over somebody new?
  2. So basically you get first dibs on all our books Seriously though, How about a group PM, where UK boardies can put books up for say first before they try the open forum Which is exactly what I was suggesting you dingbat! round robin pm = group pm
  3. If UK boardies have something they want to sell, I have no objection to being contacted by round robin PM. I may not be interested in all of them, but it wouldn't bother me to receive the Initial pm. Would this be a possible solution?
  4. For your collection, or to resell, if I may be so bold?
  5. Those high grade Bronze books for £1 each that you picked up at Kapow should be a good profit. . No way! Those were keepers! This is virtually my entire collection from 1990 onwards, plus lots of tb's, mags etc. Show me the money! Have you done antique/collectors fairs before? No, but in addition to comics, I've got quite a lot of old movie, sport and music memorabilia that I've hoarded over the years and now want to get rid of and which is too nice to put in a boot sale. I've also had some cards printed up saying I buy comics, which I give out to punters, so I'm hoping I might get some leads from those. I quite enjoy doing them, and it's a good way to make some money and free up some space. I want to try a few different venues to see what works. I'm not risking anything and it's all good experience.

  7. Getting ready to do a big boot sale on Sunday where I usually do well with comics, so will hopefully make a few quid. Got some antique/collectors fairs coming up soon as well as I'm dipping my toes in dealing on a small scale.
  8. As with all these books, if speculators are sitting on multiple copies, that 100,000 starts to look smaller. I can see people wanting a copy and struggling to find one. (probably due to a few members of this very board sitting on a hundred or so copies each ).
  9. Cool books, hopefully that means mine will be with me soon
  10. Given how brutal this place can be to any kind of perceived shady selling behaviour, you'd think it would be a no brainer to just ship stuff in a timely manner. You have to be a bit of a to do stuff like this, because the likely reaction is pretty obvious and your reputation is going to be blown afterwards. I don't get it.
  11. I normally expect to wait two weeks. Three weeks and I'd definitely be starting to worry. Worst of all though is the lack of response to your requests for tracking info.
  12. Welcome to the boards and kudos on this thread.
  13. All the comics you could ever need are currently in Arsenalherd's spare bedroom haha its going down, sold 17,000 in last month, made a little hole. Would this be a good time to ask you for the loan of a tenner?

  15. Funny. I really feel sorry for Rio though. Not because I think he should have gone, but because I don't buy the injury explanation. To me, it seems clear that he's been left out because of the potential conflict between him and Terry (who I think is a reprehensible little turd). It's so misguided too - it's not like the people who support Rio are going to be thinking "Oh well, no problems, since he's not actually physically here I'm going to be JT's best mate". Hodgson has really missed a trick in my view - this was a great opportunity to clear the decks and blood some new talent a couple of years in advance of the next World Cup, at a time when expectations are probably at a 20 year low. Including Lampard, Gerard, Terry, Barry as probable starters, and like Downing has blown that. Oh well. Got to agree with you on Ferdinand & Terry - I wouldn't have selected either of them for the squad as both of then come with to much baggage these days. If he's picked Terry, he might as well have picked Barton. They're both a couple of nasty little thugs. Hopefully Terry will get his comeuppance shortly at the trial.
  16. You talking about this? It's not new and its been around years, I have never liked it as its more about Anime, Manga and video games Yeah, that's the one. See it's a twice a year show with another one in October. Just surprised how badly promoted it is. There's also the Film and Comicon at Olympia. I went to it one year when it was at Wembley. It was ok but nothing special. The best bit was meeting and getting a sig from Adam West
  17. In other news, there is something called 'London Comic Con' announced for next weekend 25 -27 May at the Excel Centre. It is unrelated to either SuperCon or Kapow. I haven't seen anybody on here mention this at all. Anyone know anything about it?
  18. Mortadelo y Filemon are probably the most popular spanish comic. And they are really hilarious. Yes, even though I couldn't understand all of the words, the humor was obvious. Are you aware of any English translations of this series? I would love to find some.
  19. That's like telling water not to be wet. I do agree though. Harold thrives on the attention, I can only assume he lives a very dull life. Hey Gaz, how's tricks?
