  1. Yeah! Me too. That book is exactly the same age as me, but in better condition. Whizzer, You and I born in the same year, and like a good wine aged well. (thumbs u

  3. Wasn't The Vault supposed to be the next big thing? What happened with that?
  4. Love seeing old mags like this. That one looks quite speculator focused for the time (pre 90's). My guesses for best comic strip ever would be; Raymond Flash Gordon, Hogarth Tarzan or Eisner Spirit. I know it's cheating to take 3 guesses, but hey, I was the first to respond.
  5. This room is not on the ground floor, I do worry about the ceiling falling in as my computer room is directly below and I spend a lot of time in there. If it is windy outside it can be quite unnerving as you can hear creaking above you. You may want to get that looked at, seriously. That is a big load for standard floor joists to deal with, especially if in an older house. Hate to think of you getting flattened.

Whizzer, What is a 's' amount friends so impressed with the number of books. kevinJ, your picture is very cool, and saw the link with some group shots of your books. - WOW.
  7. KevinJ, that room is something else. I assume it's on the ground floor as the weight must be huge? Great collection though. And Waylander, what you actually did was the mathS
  8. And you're still in a bad mood??? Sweeeet books.
  9. These are all very nice Bane, but they do not fit your focus of high grade slabbed Bats. You should therefore send them to me immediately.
  10. Wow thats some deal. im still happy but baffled why so much thrown in that this person could have made some money on, they wasnt a comic shop and maybe just wanted rid of the lot??? If I give you the money, will you buy me a lotto ticket? You lucky
  11. The paperbacks intrigue me even more than the magazine. That may of course be because I don't have any of the paperbacks.... Well, as I say I bought them cheaply from a 2nd hand bookshop. I was probably about 13 and had never heard of Mad mag or the original comic at that time. It was love at first sight and I devoured them. From there I began buying the regular UK version of the mag. My Mad comic no.4 is one of my favorite books and I need to work on a low grade run of the other comic issues. Man, I wish I'd bought that no. 24 from Harley!
  12. I'm lucky, my lcs has enough custom for new issues to allow the owner to also focus on back issues. He also has good contacts in the States and often buys in silver and bronze collections from there. He has proper wall books which currently include; ASM 1, DD1, GSX 1 and Uncanny Xmen 94 to name a few. So few comic shops sell back issues now, but he loves it and makes good money doing it. I was in there last week when they were filling their regular pull lists and it was incredible, piles and piles of new books being put together for customers. Mind you we have had a few shops fail here over the years, but he runs it like a business and it seems to be working.
  13. Forbidden Planet, the comic shop for people who don't like comics.
  14. Gosh has moved somewhere else in London. Didn't Comicana sell out to Orbital or someone? The guy from Comicana was selling 50p books at Super Con. I always get confused by this, there was Stateside which became Mighty World of Comicana and now you've got Nick as Comicana Direct. Wasn't Mcalpine involved with Comicana at one time? I guess the London comic world is pretty small.
  15. Oi! What's your game? There are people trying to sleep in here. Turn the lights off on your way out
  16. I've still got all mine, I love the seventies issues. I have just dug a load of eighties issues out to sell though, as they generally have horrible production and printing quality and I'm trying to get rid of all the mess I've hoarded and have no attachment to. My runs of Captain Britain, MWOM, Spider Man Weekly, Titans etc are staying though
  17. Oh please please tell me you're a super hot chick ... Preferably one that likes short chubby mexicans who are married good one Hector.
  18. +1. My eye went straight to the Billy Batson/ Capt. Marvel statue, very nice.
